Buffy: So how'd she get away with the bad mojo stuff? Anya: Giles sold it to her. Giles: Well, I didn't know it was her. I mean, how could I? If it's any consolation, I may have overcharged her.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And here we are a few weeks later in Chicago, when DavidS had his book reading at Quimby's. I see Knut, tommyrot, erinaceous, and Madrigal!

That was SO much fun! I wish I knew where Madrigal was. Anaheed was there too.

Thrive to spite them

I need to skype my nephew and then try and text my brother again and see if he will send me a reply.

Got my debit card today and got it activated, realized I need to get my prescription but I'm self quarantining so I realized I can't and it's a controlled substance so someone can pick it up but they can't delivery it. However, I have enough to last me so I'm going to wait it out I guess. Talked to Mom- she had gotten in a minor accident a while back and has a rental car but there was an issue with the the body shop being paid so she wasn't able to get her car back until today. She offered to get my prescription and drop it at the house, thinking it was at the pharmacy up there I used to use but I told her even if it was I wouldn't want her to do that.

Trying to figure out what to do about grocery delivery. instacart employees are striking and after a quick little inventory it would be really helpful to get some things. We have enough but it would run us a bit low and we would end up in the super creative trying to make things work.

Last night we had spaghetti and there were leftovers but we also had leftover ground beef so I ended up making a kind of picadillo over rice. The only fresh veggies I have left are onions, potatoes, shishito peppers, half a bunch of celery and a small head or romaine.

Matthew's brother in law still has a fever, not sure of other symptoms but if it continues tomorrow his sister is going to take him to the doctor. If they test him for covid-19 it will take about 10 days so we will be about through with this.

Matthew's mom got frustrated "we can't stay locked inside all the time" I told her we can and we will and other people don't have a nice sized yard or even a small private outside space so they can't even go out side at all.

And I also realized our mail is an issue. The street used to be a 2 way street and now it's one way but one way where the houses are on the opposite side of the street than works for postal delivery so we have one big bank of boxes like a business does (and we share with the businesses that are in the street in front of us). But we also can't go 2 weeks without checking the mail so I'm not sure what to do.. although we have been getting less and less mail lately.

Now tagless for your comfort.

DH made a grocery run today and the checker reminded him that they have special hours just for senior citizens.

I have not stopped laughing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh jeez, askye -- I wish I could run errands for you!

I looked again and found the exact recipe I was looking for! [link]

You can let him know I laughed too!

Time Travel Buffista Meetup!

So nice to see people. I was thinking today that I missed the pictures/avatars from WX days.

Oh dear.

I was really annoyed about being forced into mail order 'scripts, but now I'm really grateful because no drama in getting my dr to e-scribe another 90 days. And hell, I'm home, so.

My mom may kill my dad before summer if he doesn't give them both the corona first. He keeps going out for unnecessary shit. Pretty hopeless persuading him otherwise. He's got a fucking teenager's invincibility complex. Always has. Almost died (several times)? Doesn't humble, make more introspective; nope. Just, hey, didn't die!

I think my neighbor is like that. Almost 80, heart attack a couple of years ago, and I think he finally stopped going into the office?? He was definitely going in every day when I was WFH.

I'm definitely wishing I'd gone to 90 day mail Rx!

Askye I think even when quarantining you can go check the mail, just don't do it when other people are standing there and don't sneeze all over the mailboxes??

Debet, I've been thinking about fostering, but apparently the Humane Society here isn't taking any transfers from other shelters (which is how they usually get new animals) so no kittens right now! :( And I'm also tempted to foster a doggo but also a little scared because I don't know that I can handle a dog that has any issues.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

askye, going out for things is fine. Don't touch your face, limit your contact with things, and wash your hands as soon as you get back in.

The mailbox thing is across the street and down half a block. I think whoever checks can take some lysol and spray it down before and after the mail is checked. I know I'm being a bit.. much about this..but there is barely any testing going on and no one is really limiting their movements.

I'm working on my unemployment claim- they have an option for coronavirus laid off or reduced hours, I picked laid off (even though it's furlough because that's not an option) and the form requires a return date to work which I don't know. I picked May 1, seems as good a guess as any.
