Welp, right now neither my students nor I can access the media server at the university. All we get is a blank page with a URL that ends in /error/error. That can't be good.
Are you using Kaltura? We're having the same issue.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Got it in one, Hil. But it's weird in that the community college system seems fine.
My ex-fiancee lives down the street from Elmhurst Hospital in Queens. He says it looks apocalyptic and he has started to believe in conspiracy theories. DMORT has large trucks backed up to take the bodies away because the hospital has no room for them. DMORT is an apt acronym for Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Teams, a thing that I didn't even know existed.
Gov. of VA issued a stay-at-home order today. They will be arresting people in gatherings of more than ten people. I support this and think he should've gone even further, but this is Virginia.
I called my doctor and asked for a refill on my Valium and she kindly did it, so tomorrow I will venture forth to the pharmacy drive-through with gloves on and a bandana on my face.
And, today I realized that I've dropped the ball on getting my car inspected; it expires tomorrow and I promise you I'm not sitting around at the mechanic for hours to get it done, so it'll just have to expire.
Elmhurst in Queens was what my student mentioned.
Zen - I think they are waving things like that in MD, may be the same in VA.
Yes, we can go out for "essentials".

That just sounds awful.
In much lighter news, I am glad I spent a lot of money getting my hair done on the last possible day, because otherwise I would be VERY TEMPTED to cut and/or color it myself.
I've been trying to grow my shaved sides out, so technically I don't need a haircut for a while...but they're just at that "long enough to wave in weird ways and not be weighted down" way and driving me nuts. The real win will be if I don't shave them again (....maybe just one side?)
It's still pretty quiet here on the infection front. Oahu's a bit worse. We don't yet have any documented community spread, but they do. Being friends with the head of the small local hospital, we're getting as good of information as anyone (which is still not as much information as we'd like).
Despite still working full time and having a nearly-10-month-old and 2 cats, I'm going to pick up a foster doggo tomorrow. Because I make Good Choices.

Here we are in 2004, at Kristin's home in Connecticut, will billytea, Trudy, Kate P, DX, Theo, and me.
And here we are a few weeks later in Chicago, when DavidS had his book reading at Quimby's. I see Knut, tommyrot, erinaceous, and Madrigal!
The pictures are teeny tiny; the Internet was a lot smaller back then.
