If you have an ice cream maker, cinnamon ice cream.

Two maple options:

Apple Maple Blondies: [link]

Maple-Orange Pear Crisp: [link]

The second has pecans in it though.

Dana, I think those cookies will be a recipe I try this year. I might do a bunch of half recipes. and cook for like 18 days straight. HAHAHAHAHA

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I do not have an ice cream maker, and will be in the car for up to two hours getting to Tgiving. And shouldn't plan to use the oven when I get there. There are a lot of restrictions!

Maybe those blondies, though.

If anyone is locationless for T-day by the way, mi casa es su casa. I have a guest room and the day will be my parents and me and mac (mac mostly not engaging with anyone). Parade will be watched as will the dog show and also probably football. There is no shopping on T-day in my world and no Black Fridayness either (most likely) although if you are into that I am willing to do ridiculous things.

Hey. New board.

My family is a big fan of cranberry jello "salads" that can be made to various levels of sweetness. Most recipes definitely hit the dessert level of sugar (my wife often cuts out 2/3 or more of the sugar to serve with the turkey). The one she makes is very similar to this one [link] but with no celery and strawberry jello.

Hey. New board.

The only thing I'm eating after the dinner itself though is Cooks Illustrated Best Pumpkin Pie (the complicated one with both pumpkins and yams) made with the Food Lab's Easy Pie Crust and homemade whipped cream. I will have one pie, everybody else can share the other one.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Trader Joe's has a frozen gluten free pie crust now, and I'm going to make a test pumpkin pie with it this weekend to see how it is. Tim is very happy to get bonus pie.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I always make this pie [link] and it's pretty amazing.

(I use that for the filling--I do something else for crust.)

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I usually make at least 2 pies, one of them maple/walnut (or maple/pecan) but this year I'm hosting for only 3 people, so I think just a single apple pie.
