What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I always make this pie [link] and it's pretty amazing.

(I use that for the filling--I do something else for crust.)

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I usually make at least 2 pies, one of them maple/walnut (or maple/pecan) but this year I'm hosting for only 3 people, so I think just a single apple pie.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We'll be 10-12 people, and will likely have pumpkin pie, apple pie, chocolate mousse pie, pecan pie, and whatever I make.

I usually make a pumpkin pie with more of a mousse-y texture, and then put it in a ginger snap-pecan crust. Usually with a little apricot jam between crust and pie, for tang and carmelizarkon.

Our wings are not tired.

I don't even care much about pie, but y'all are making me hungry.

Trying to focus on anything other than the mess Florida is making of voting again. At least I am getting some work and reading done.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Occasionally I fantasize about ejecting several states from the Union which would bring the average competence of America up a little... then I remember the people I do know who live in the various states and couldn't bear to do that to them.

I drove hard for 5 hours this morning... and grossed just $93. Which doesn't actually work out to be that much when you consider that I'm paying for my own gas, et cetera. Usually I get at least one considerable-sized fare that brings up the average. OTOH, passengers were pretty nice.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The computer room looks like a tornado hit it. Mr. S strikes again. (I know, he's 3, but it's exhausting dealing with him.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yes, Sheryl, It's exhausting.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

carmelizarkon

I want all my pies to have carmelizarkon from now on.
