Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That does sound weird, Dana. But here's hoping things generally work out for you guys in a good way somehow!

Only I said it waaaaaaaay more diplomatically than that, and immediately afterward my mom called me to say, "You are so good, that was masterful." I haven't spent the last decade working for tunnel-visioned heart surgeons for nothing, Mom, but, truthfully, the validation is very comforting.

Your mom seems great, JZ. Validation is always nice.

Ugh, meara, I hope that was just a momentary body weirdness.

I am about to go for a walk myself! Did I post here that I saw the weatherman saying that the sky looks extra blue because of less pollution?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I went for a walk around lunchtime to drop off some mail at the post office. Since it's been rainy it hasn't been too weird to be out on empty streets alone, but today's sunny warm weather (almost 80° here) made the quiet and solitude really eerie. Thank goodness for the one skateboarder walking his bulldog!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I saw a few other people out and about, a couple of people fishing (separately), a couple having a conversation on a bench (clearly together), mostly walking or running several with dogs. Mostly made eye contact and smiled and/or nodded, too, which is nice. It's usually really empty and quiet around here on a weekday, so that wasn't offputting.

Thrive to spite them

We went out to Wal Mart for a few things. It was actually nice to get out but there was a lack of social distancing. like the woman who stood less than 2 feet behind us in line. Wal Mart had milk and bread but no lysol anything escept toilet bowl cleaner and no clorox anything. Saw people out riding bikes.

Cleaned off all the grocies, have some stuff sitting in the car for a few days. I wanted to get some fresh produce but also didn't want to deal with figuring out how to clean it so I just passed exempt some onions.

oh god help me - "why did you leave the soda in the car... the cans will lose their fizz"

also I found a pair of jeans to wear out of the house, I dont' think I've gained weight they seemed to fit ok but even though they were my strechy jeans I was ready to get out of them and back into comfy clothes.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Ugh, my dad's CXR is now showing some infiltrates in the right lung, so no extubation for the time being. The nurse is in the room with him so I have to wait another 10-15 minutes and call back for a complete update.

McMasters is doing his press conference , he is not issuing a shelter in place order. He has faith in the common sense, wisdom and resilience of the people of SC so he won't issue the order. He is talking about how people are staying home and like every single comment on the FB page for the video is - no they aren't !!!

Which Means I'll probably be going back to work in a few days. Unless Greenville County steps up. In NC, SC, and GA it seems like it's up to cities and counties to do anything.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

He has faith in the common sense, wisdom and resilience of the people of SC so he won't issue the order.

He's met people, right?

I have survived seven days of sheltering in place. What I would give for a trip to Trader Joe's though. I'm actually feeling a little better as days go by. Some new normalcy? But it's just me and two German Shepherds for a while.
