I would prefer to have coffee shop noise around while I work but not like, the price is right or Fox News.

Yay JZ's dad! JZ I assume you're also feeling better. My roommate's test came back and she does not have covid! I think she's disappointed in that because she's legit sick, and hasn't been to work, but that means she could still catch it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I just put a cider cheese bread in the oven to go with dinner. Who is this person I'm becoming?

Our wings are not tired.

Wish I was coming to your house for dinner, sj!

I wish you could too. Laura hugs would be awesome right about now.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I like to have the classical radio station on in the background while I'm working but I can't handle anything with words if I'm trying to concentrate on anything else.

I can't edit if music with lyrics is playing. It has to just be instrumental, which is either classical or the Vince Guaraldi station on Pandora.

I just put a cider cheese bread in the oven to go with dinner.

That sounds amazing.

It calls for a bottle of hard cider instead of requiring yeast and no kneading. That's just about my expertise level with baking from scratch.

MA schools will now be closed until at least the first week of May.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

CA too. So...that's going to be interesting. On top of which, we don't know what's going to happen with any summer camps at the moment. So, it's just a wild frontier of no structure for Matilda right now.

msbelle, Matilda has offered her bed. She doesn't mind sleeping on the couch. But my body is adapting to sleeping on the couch (somewhat), so I'd rather not add another level of disruption. If my back starts hurting though I'll ask for a switch.

Spent an hour talking to the parent of one of Matilda's friends about how to finesse transfers and bad school assignments in SFUSD. It's going to be complicated and you have to play chicken with the school year willing to start at one place and pull out after a couple weeks to jump on an open slot. Just another massive stressor.

Same here for ltc. She's not very happy with the "evil virus". Best of luck figuring out the school situation for Matilda.

After this has passed there has to be some serious catching up on hugs!

I can't even imagine with the kids! All day I see lots of them coming and going to the park across the street. It is theoretically closed, but has about 10 outside parking spaces and lots of people come on bikes or golf carts. The few times I have left the house there have been far fewer cars, and a lot more kids on bikes or playing ball in the street.
