Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

Because books.

The governor of PA just closed schools till March 30, and our county library system is closed till then starting tomorrow. I managed to pick up the book I had on hold, yay.

The bakery was more than normally busy for a Friday this morning, but it was a nice day and people were buying in bulk a lot of the time (to freeze, I guess). The atmosphere on the street seemed to be "first day of a holiday." Lots of moms out with tribes of little kids, which defeats the purpose of social distancing, even if kids aren't very susceptible.

One supermarket was out of milk until Sunday, another had plenty of milk, but not a lot of frozen anything. And the Beer Mill, the state package store right next door, is doing land office business.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

You know, this documentation might be as important as our 9/11 thread. But slower.

I also have to hunker down and complete my course this weekend.

And I was sort of dumb with my instacart order last night. I think I still need more meat. But I have a lot of tuna!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

My mom does not handle the whole "No Family Dinners For Now, You're Vulnerable And I Don't Want To Kill You" very well. She might be a nurse over 60 who is working with the elderly, but she's still my mother.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am going out to eat. My head hurts, but I think it is from wearing my glasses all day at the computer (I only need them for distance.) and holding stress in my neck.

Canvassing has been switch to phone banking for Sunday - and still no word on what work is going to look like next week.

ION - someone on my block was just playing a saxophone out on their front porch, not greatly, but charming.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I finally cancelled the trip I was supposed to leave for on Sunday. Phew!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

One of the people from my Jewish group is starting a virtual bread and soup party -- she'll post recipes each Monday, and then everyone can make them, and we all gather and eat on WebEx on Thursday evening.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

That sounds lovely, Hil.

I went to my library this morning for early voting and then to Whole Foods which had weekend level traffic. I didn't check the paper items, but the frozen veggies were nearly empty.

Then I had to hustle in to work for a hastily scheduled meeting. I was expecting we'd be WFH for the immediate future, but in an attempt to keep the show crews (who get paid hourly) employed I'm supposed to find something for them to do to make up the total hours they would've gotten from show calls. Which means I need to be at work next week. I like that my crew will continue to get paid. I don't like that they'll have to use public transit to get there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My mother just said they haven't had frozen veg at our store in two weeks! And of course, she's eaten down her fridge in anticipation of being out of town. So we'll see how that goes.

You guys, I did not realize how much of my anxiety was tied up in this trip! I should sleep well tonight.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

What a good idea, Hil!

Can't they just pay them not to work? That's what I would do. This could be one of the many reasons I am not in charge of anything.

Yay for lowering stress, Jesse!

I have something not entirely unlike coq au vin in the instant pot. Sounds like the rain could start anytime. Should be a cozy weekend.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

You know, this documentation might be as important as our 9/11 thread. But slower.

Sophia, I was thinking the exact same thing. The vibe of this thread is much like that one was, but at a much slower pace.
