'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Our local winter farmer's market has been cancelled, too.

And the Boston Marathon has been rescheduled to September 14th.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Mostly because I would be taking it behind closed doors and not sharing with anyone.

EXACTLY. It's not selfish if I do it in the name of social distancing!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Today is my regular 9/80 day off. I keep checking email in case there's a directive to wfh. I should stop that.

I am holed up at home but that is usual for me. Dunkin' is tempting me to go get a free donut...

Our wings are not tired.

Ugh, Louisiana is postponing their primary election until summer. I don't like putting that idea in Trump's head at all.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Cindy, ~mas and mas to you and yours.

OMG yay Pearlie! I know some of that feeling and it's wonderful (Pele is still on a feeding tube. He's eating about a quarter of what he should be eating on his own, but he needs to eat a lot more before we'll remove the feeding tube).

Well, DAMN: Ohio is banning gatherings of 100 people or more and closing K-12 schools for at least three weeks beginning at the close of school Monday.

Same here. My university postponed the semester to next week to get teachers the time to move to online classes - which I have no idea how they'll handle.

It reminds my a lot of what happened during the Gulf War (Shir, you were just a baby then, right?).

Nilly, I was five. I remember my parents woke me to put the gas mask on and go to the secure room. And I'm told I saved my sister's life by noticing her tent (she was a baby, so she had one of these small tents) wasn't really working.

I'm one of only a handful of people in my department who has significant experience teaching online, and I've been pulled in a million different directions the past few days trying to get everyone else set up so that they can do at least the basics of posting assignments.

I can only imagine. Tons of strength and sanity to you! Also, way to go, the rabbinical council! (I'm still thinking about how Jewish councils will handle the Seder this year).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Composing my email to the chorus saying I'm not coming to the concerts. The mayor has banned gatherings of more than 500 people. The concerts wouldn't hit that threshold, but that just means they're not being forced to cancel.

What is even happening?

DH's employer has now told all employees who can perform their jobs remotely to work from home for the foreseeable future. This is a hospital saying that.

I have to say that your family is clearly doing everything possible to keep safe. That really is all we can do at this time. So much ~ma for safety and calm.

C's part of the at-risk population, so we've been extra careful, Laura. This boy has been through so much the past year. All he wants to do is go to school.

He will not be returning to the dorm this semester, no matter what happens.

I am holed up at home but that is usual for me. Dunkin' is tempting me to go get a free donut...

What kind of donuts do you like, -t? Any kind that survives being heated up in the oven?

Cindy, ~mas and mas to you and yours.

Thank you, Shir. To you and yours too.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Naturally, I sent that email and then immediately got an email from them canceling.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Thrive to spite them

There are almost no customers here today. Again it's mostly senior citizens. Although I'm now in a corner and can't see as many people coming through. The mall is dead. We had Lysol in the public bathrooms but that's stopped because ppl were stealing it.
