Yay that's so awesome msbelle! Try the foam on top of the air mattress!
I woke up before my alarm (like half an hour before) and didn't go back to sleep. Is this what being an adult feels like? I even took a shower before starting work!

Yay, two Amys in the same place!
msbelle, what meara said: put the foam mattress on top of the air mattress. And congratulations!
meara, I got out of bed just before 7 and didn't make tea until I had done all the morning prep things. Jim is in Denver and is threatening to call a friend to check the underground garage for pods.

We used to put a foam topper on top of an air mattress for road trips and we slept like kitties. Quite comfy.
The problem with air mattresses is not that they're uncomfortable, but in a cool ambient temperature they're downright chilly. The foam mattress on top would fix that!
I have taken your advice. I will report back tomorrow morning.
I've made an Aldi run. Only got about half the things on my list though.
Timelies all!
Woke up around 4:45 this morning, then went back to sleep until 6. Poor Gary woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. (Stress leading to hamster brain)
When does the furniture arrive, msbelle!? I'm excited for you!
Some day 2/1 to 2/5, they have yet to confirm.
That part would be driving me crazy, camping out and waiting for furniture to arrive! I know you're organized so that you carried life's essentials (like enough cooking and eating implements) with you in the car, but still.
I've been 20 years in this house now (YIKES) but I'm pretty sure there are boxes that I haven't unpacked, somewhere.
The last time I was looking for a job, Debbie Gibson's "Shake Your Love" was charting on the Billboard Hot 100!
We would be pretty similar then. The last time I applied for jobs was in 1986. I got one, and I've been in the same office at the same desk doing pretty much the same kind of stuff ever since. It's almost un-American at this point, and certainly does not speak to my ambition or adventurousness.
