Our wings are not tired.

That is wonderful, Gud!

Listen to my number one parental advice - for all your child's accomplishments take full credit for your brilliant parenting - for all your child's failures, that's on them bud, not your fault. ;)

Miley foster dog had a great first night at new home, slept in bed with foster moms. no issues.

I think I found someone who wants all of my Legos and it is someone I know and a blended family with lots of kids who do great political work locally, so I am so happy to basically give them this stuff.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I don't think so, he's way smarter than I am. He's a literal genius.

That seed fell on some awfully fertile soil.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Tim met with the cardiothoracic surgeon this morning, and his surgery is in 2 weeks, on the 21st. Seems like it should be straightforward, but, ya know, it's still heart surgery, so it's kind of nerve-wracking. It will be robotic surgery, which is minimally invasive (as opposed to open-heart surgery), and he should be in the hospital for 3-5 days, and then off work for 2 more weeks after he gets home.

Once he's home, I plan to set him up with streaming TV and movies on the iPad in the bedroom so I can get work done, or else I'll murderize him, which will defeat the purpose of surgery to fix his heart.

The surgeon has extensive experience with robotic mitral valve repair, and was fantastic at explaining everything, so I feel pretty good about that. It's just...ack, heart surgery.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Heart~ma, Tep. 2 weeks does not seem like a lot of time to recover! I hope that's because it really is that easy to recover from this. Also anti-murderizing~ma in advance

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

2 weeks does not seem like a lot of time to recover!

The surgeon said 2-5 weeks (ish) after coming home from the hospital (he'll be in the hospital 3-5 days), but that because it's minimally invasive surgery and Tim is young (for a heart patient) and otherwise in rather good health, it wouldn't be unusual for him to go back to work after 2 weeks. But Tim promised that if he needs longer to recover, he'll take it.

Also anti-murderizing~ma in advance

Ha! I admit that I'm hoping he's back to work in 2 weeks. But I won't kick him out the door if he needs longer to recover and binge-watch AHS or whatever.
