I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ah, my bug seems to have settled into what I like to think of as my "healing cough" - it sounds terrible (like a barking sea lion) but seems to mean my body is on the mend and generally goes with feeling better.

Also, Katie Bee, I was a recipient once, but the person knew me and we went to the DMV together to get it signeded over. I third the idea of an agency. Maybe they want to keep it to do things like Theo is doing with her new job, but it still does good if you don't know someone personally.

Yeah it might be easier to donate to a nonprofit and get the write off.

I did see your teeny apartment Jesse! I remember liking the brick wall. It was when I couldn't get into my aunts place because the doorman was MIA in the middle of the night...

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The last few years, instead of buying my folks gifts for birthdays and Hanukkah, I've been treating them to dinner. I don't know if that's going to happen this time, as we are staying with Gary's dad and stepmom, and won't be able to do dinner with just the five of us. We'll figure something out...

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Sigh

Today my father's friend passed out briefly while with dad, so he called an ambulance and went to the hospital. Friend is not well, older than dad (in his 80s, I think) and stubborn as, well as a Scottsman, which he is.

I took mac to counseling - that's a 3 hour even - an hour each way and an hour there.

back now and going to research and get insurance for his car which we pay for and pick up tomorrow at noon.

Got an email from the City of Baltimore that I met requirements for a job that I applied for, so I may or may not be contacted for an interview, but my resume/application will be reviewed for any job at that position for the next 6 month. That is the second job with them that I have received that notice. Nothing concrete, but better than the "other candidates are being considered" that I've gotten from JHH.

Also have a FaceTime interview with a temp/placement agency for Thursday.

So, stuff is still moving in a forwardish progression.

Forwardish ho! Best wishes for your dad's friend.

I made it through the work day! Got home and immediately crawled into bed. I will have to get up and feed the cat, but other than that I think I am done for the day.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did see your teeny apartment Jesse! I remember liking the brick wall. It was when I couldn't get into my aunts place because the doorman was MIA in the middle of the night...

Oh right! I remembered you sleeping with me, but couldn't remember why!

Herding cats for fun

Thanks for the input about my unwanted car. If I go through an agency I don't have to have it smog tested before signing it over. It's sad that my first new vehicle has become such a low value but it was definitely not built for the ages like my Valiant.

So, I talked to my mom, and she DOES NOT WANT me to arrange or call the repair people. However, I opened that my friend Katie had had her stove repaired by these guys and she is open to the recommendation.

Which is good for her oven, but I still have no gift. Right now she has alpaca socks and a joke turkey soap dish.

Also, she is going to drive me to drink, because I am so bossy. And bossy does not work for her.

Also, being a questioner makes nice management techniques weird. My Obliger/upholder bosses ask the students and faculty "can you help me understand why you did xxx" and they don't really mean it. I really want to know WHY? Did you do this stupid thing. So I can fix it next time. Most people seem to respond to that technique saying they won't do it again, but I really want to know WHY? Because if I can fix the I can fix it forever.
