Yes, ltc, my mother, and maybe msbelle's mac. It is anecdotal and not evidence based, but it was helpful tome as a questioner. Because I love to meet expectations, but if the expectations are stupid tome, ai am just like F it! Like, why do I need to make my bed if I am going to unmake it to get in it at night!
The problem with the alcove is that my "central heat" is literally One heat run in my living room/hall and so the alcove is freezing. But I can have Aidan help me move things around, and then back the next week for this years, so I maybe should take advantage.

ltc definitely gets these tendencies from me, but I would just quietly ignore people and not do what they wanted me to. I was not a confrontational child.
I think that is a questioner. Anyway, that is me.
Question for the hive mind: how can I pass my 2012 Kia minivan to a homeless person?
I can adopt my Dad's car, which is appealing because it runs better and uses way less gas. My van has a trade in value of about $250, or maybe $1,000 if I could find an interested buyer. I hated every minute of dealing with people from Craigslist last time I sold my car. It was an awful time consuming nightmare of no shows and weirdos and I don't want to do it again.
Since I'm getting the Camry for a dollar, it feels right to donate my car. It would be more comfortable than sleeping rough. I could donate it to Habitat for Humanity and get a tax write off, but I wonder if a direct donation would be more helpful and charitable.
Any ideas that aren't Craigslist are most welcome.
I am apparently a Questioner. Which seems about right.

Ditto.
Sophia, what about putting good-sized cushions and/or throw pillows along the wall on the bed, so your bed becomes more daybed? Of course, if your bed is anything other than twin-sized, that makes for an oddly deep "couch"...and made more sense in my head before I started typing. Never mind, nothing to see here...
EPIC, I recently bought a twin, so that does make sense!

I just saw double (or queen???) sized daybeds in a furniture store, and my friend and I did think they were very odd! I mean, just have a bed in your spare room, you know?
Also, Sophia, if you're not constantly having people over, it's fine! I had friends over occasionally when I lived in the tiniest apartment, and they just sat on my bed and it was fine. I think msbelle and meara may both be in that group!
Katie Bee, you can sign the pink slip over to an individual if you have someone in mind. There are tax ramifications, though, for the recipient - if they aren't family there are limits on saying they paid a dollar for it, or whatever and they would have to go to the DMV and register the change in ownership and whatnot. I've only done it within the family and across state lines, so my experience is not going to be directly applicable, but going through an organization may actually be better for everyone as the organization will have systems in place for dealing with all that, presuambly.
I think maybe I will just turn my bed so it is against the wall. Therefore it can be daybed or bed, or sofa, but still be in the warm/cool area. The delivery people wanted to know why I was putting my nice new couch out of the way, but it is so pretty!
