well - I am starting to come down from the day.
Family all knows. Dog rescue knows and has a hard end date for me keeping the current foster. I did a TINY bit of retail therapy (less than $20).
I emailed my one question about the severance package, the COBRA coverage, at 11:50am and they have yet to respond.
I've texted 2 people at work so they know and one of them is bringing me the food I left in the freezer and I'll probably be getting together with all of them one evening soon for wings and beers.
I am about to start on a timeline for the move. Current aim is for me to hit the road to B'more either 1.26 or 1.27. So movers have to happen before then, realtor has to happen before then, packing abso-fucking-lutely has to be finished before then, quotes on work on the house have to happen before then - actual work on the house might happen before, but might happen after - stuff to sell in parent's estate sale needs to get moved to their house before then.
Just a few things.
Tonight I drink.
The immediate timeline sounds very reasonable, msbelle.
My department's Xmas outing is going to see Jumanji II. I never saw the first one and only saw pieces of the original. Probably it'll still be perfectly enjoyable. We're going further away this year (20 minutes! Definitely getting on the freeway) which I am not super pleased about, but it's not up to me. The movie theater we used to go to managed to inconvenience or annoy the people in charge last year, I guess.
You can do eeeeet, msbelle!!!
Timelies all!
Meh. Just feeling kind of bleh. Not sick, just tired .
Oh, msbelle! They may not know it now, but they are going to be sorry you were discarded like this. The institutional knowledge alone is worth keeping you on long enough to train your successor(s).
Ah well.
After going to several stationary and art stores around greater Camberville, I finally went to the closest one -- which is in Harvard Square about .9 of a mile from Youville. There's NO street parking anywhere near it, so I just said screw it and walked there through actual Harvard Yard and et cetera. And they had the Staedler Textsurfer highlighters that my resident needed for his special handmade holiday cards. Should have called them first and saved a lot of time!
I've trained her for a month and almost a half - that is probably as long as they would have gotten if they had waited to hire her until I got a job.
I wasn't even allowed to vote in any of the elections, nor the damned referendum, and the consequences affect me more than most. F*ck them all.
Ugh, Fiona, I'm so sorry. What a cluster.
Somehow the mini-flashmob actually happened at the office party which is one day before the office moves.
That is awesome!!
Work is over. Effective immediately. I handed over phone and company credit cards and was walked out.
Holy shit. Although I think in the long run it will be nice not to have to worry about that stupid job for now. Financial fingers crossed.
After several arduous weeks we got Matilda's application into School of the Arts.
Art School fingers crossed!!
New theme song for msbelle
I knew what this would be without clicking.

Bob Slate has what you need! I coulda told you that. (Although, did you happen to notice their boxed cards? I'm going there tomorrow regardless.)
I've been offline all day at a spa day, which was incredible! Also incredibly expensive. So possibly a once-in-a-lifetime situation.

Like when you got your hair cut on TV or cuddled up to Downtown Abbey cast members.
Correct! At least both of those were free.
