The extended timing is very culturally apt for us :-). And practically speaking gives people the chance to do cardscard while they're on holiday, rather than in the frenzied lead-up, which is a lively thing to look forward too.

I like getting cards by snail mail. I am old school. This is something I could actually manage to do this year. It might even cheer me up.

I like the thought of both the card exchange and donating to causes. It's low maintenance and high reward.
