What? I'm not allowed to hit people? Wesley: Not people capable of genocide. Angel: Those are exactly the types of people I should be allowed to hit!

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

You should totally post it with this as the caption. (Once you can)

You mean take a pic? and I wear makeup even less often than current Pam Anderson so there ought to be a medal of honor in it at least. (Kidding, obviously. I think a lot of the coverage of, like, "Real Beauty" misses the point, though, at least for me...the point is not to never wear it again, although I have sensitive skin and have to be careful about what I put on it, so it's kind of an event thing, and it's been too long between events.) But my point is that it should be about choice, and fun and the conscious parts of illusions, and I don't think it's some big lie if the red carpet and Ralph's don't look the same--I'm not *that* much like Bernie Sanders!

Maybe we will know we're finally equal when a female pol could have the same so-little-style-it's-a style like Bernie does, but that could be some time, to put that mildly.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Sherrod Brown, too. I love him, but I don't think he's ever worn a pressed, wrinkle-free button-down shirt in his life. I'm just impressed when his shirt is still tucked into his pants. His hair isn't as crazy as Bernie's can get, but it's also not slicked-down 1950s Republican hair, either. It verges on crazy hair, which I respect.

Yeah, Brown(whom I totally hope wins again) actually looked his best during the rare times they worked all night and stuff like that. It's weird that he just...looks like that, though, and sounds like it too.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'm 53 and still regular. Well, monthly at least. My ob/gyn took me off the pill last year to see what would happen, and basically the only thing that happened was that I had a bunch of accidents in the first several months because I kept forgetting to keep track. 30 years on the pill is very convenient.

Our wings are not tired.

I was never able to take birth control pills, nor menopause meds, because they plunge me into a black hole of depression. Mother Nature was kind enough to stop the whole business when I was 47, and I have never missed it. Monthly periods! What the hell, man? Considering the functionality of various organs and joints, the human body is super poorly designed.

The status is NOT quo.

Yep, 50 and still getting one here. I've been on the pill for 30 years, but now they're calling it HRT instead of birth control. They can't take me off entirely because I take them mainly to avoid more ruptured ovarian cysts so...

Alice Wong died. You might have seen her on that show with W. Kamau Bell a few years ago. Not exactly like losing a friend, but we talked on socials a few times.I enjoyed her and took some inspiration from what she accomplished, even though I don't feel like I am in a place to be a Crip Elder Stateswoman in any way. (She was more conscious of living on borrowed time than I, aside from the fact that nobody in Gen X really thought we'd be our age--add in disability, though, and we've all seen a few fragile threads get snapped by now.) Unlike me, though, she had confidence in the disability community and its wisdom. I can't always relate, but that is something to aspire to. [link]

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Damn. Alice was something of a local hero here. I never met her, but my friend-and-former-colleague Liz used to write (and talk) about her a lot.

Thanks for letting us know, Erika.
