I found that once I stopped trying to force my hair to do something contrary to its nature (thick, strong natural wave, tending to frizz when it's humid) and got a decent haircut, life got easier. The look isn't great, but it's extremely low maintenance.
Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I thought your hair looked beautiful at the DC F2F, Todd. Glorious white waves swept off your face.
You looked positively regal.
Thank you for that. You realize that was *19* years ago?

I do because our 20th anniversary is coming up in the spring.
But I bet you still look regal.
My hair is really really long--it's a couple inches from my waist. I don't think it's ever been this long and it blows my mind because it doesn't feel like I have that much hair. I have been super lazy about getting it cut and after attempts at messy buns I gave up because my hair keeps defying bobby pins.
I want to get it cut short again but I don't have a stylist. Although someone gave me a recommendation (and I really liked their short hair) so I may call and see about an appointment and just have them trim my hair and see how I like them before committing to getting it all cut off. Haven't found a lot of hair styles that I am thinking about although I'm not sure. I think I'd kind of like something with a sharp angle bob like this [link] but much shorter on the other side. Not sure if it would look good on me.
For those who might be interested, I came across Nandor the Relentless Is the Man You Wish You Were.
askye, have you tried spin pins? They're the only things that will keep my super-fine-yet-voluminous hair in a bun. My hair will eat bobby pins.
I haven't tried spin pins--any brand that you recommend or will any do?
Any brand will work.
