I agree with the French bob idea. I got one a couple of years ago when my grays started coming in wavy, and it works really well. I also shampoo, comb, and air dry, so it's pretty low maintenance.
Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I’ve looked up a bunch of French bob styles and put them on my Pinterest board to show my hairdresser whenever I actually make an appointment.
I also think you should ask the hairdresser. A good stylist will know what will look good on your face and with your specific hair. I've brought pictures lots of times that my beloved Erica looks at and is, like, "Yep...that's nice, but not for you. Let's try this, instead." She's always right.
Pix has a good point. The hairdresser will have a better notion of what is possible.
Pix, yes I love my hairdresser and trust his opinion. But also he prefers pictures because I’m terrible at describing what I want. So I’ll show him the Pinterest board and tell him to do what he thinks is best.
Sounds like a good plan for haircut optimization
Sometimes I'm glad that my mom speaks Hair fluently. (Although people still hear different things...I've ended up with quite a range of looks.) Pretty happy with it at this moment, though.
I found that once I stopped trying to force my hair to do something contrary to its nature (thick, strong natural wave, tending to frizz when it's humid) and got a decent haircut, life got easier. The look isn't great, but it's extremely low maintenance.

I thought your hair looked beautiful at the DC F2F, Todd. Glorious white waves swept off your face.
You looked positively regal.
Thank you for that. You realize that was *19* years ago?
