Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

move out and draw fire

FWIW, my shrink suggested and I got a DNA test, which indicated that I have one of the sequences that maps to depression and that responds to folic acid, so I'm now taking folic acid every day and it really does seem to help (and isn't an AD).

The DNA test was expensive, though.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I already take a ton of folic acid because of Spina Bifida.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Huh, Volans, that is interesting.

sj, continued wishes for relief.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Pre-natal levels of folic acid? That seems like an easy thing to try.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Remember when the answer to “What color should I dye my hair?” was always go red! Choose red!

Well, 20 years later and I’m toying with the idea of going full on silvery gray.

And my real silver isn’t even all that noticeable. I just really love the look of it.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Well, 20 years later and I’m toying with the idea of going full on silvery gray.

1. Don't say "20 years later" no no no no.

2. Full silvery grey looks so great, tho.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

sj, I've been on a Wellbutrin/Zoloft combo for years and it's kept me pretty well baselined without a ton of side effects. I did have some insomnia issues some years ago when my doctor was increasing the dosage pretty quickly. I used to take anywhere from a half to two Benedryl to help smooth over the frequent waking. But now I don't take anything except a super low dose of melatonin (1mg).

I'm sorry about the pain, but I'm glad you found a good PCP who listens!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, Nora. I already have insomnia enough, that I’m not sure I could tell the difference.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

oy ... so much pain, physical and emotional. I have managed to strain my back so it's quite painful. First I was trying to move furniture; then I was trying to carry two heavy bags of groceries home and couldn't get any kind of transportation. sigh ... I'm finding that it's low-level enough that I can mostly deal with it by using a heat patch and lying down a lot of the time. My Thanksgiving plan is to stay home. Unexciting, but safe. If my back allows, I'll try moving some small things around the apartment; I'm going to have to hire someone much stronger than I am to get the big furniture moved.

Meanwhile, may I offer some eye candy? it's more or less safe for work (depending on who might see it).

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Well, 20 years later and I’m toying with the idea of going full on silvery gray.

Full silvery gray looks so good. I recommend using Wella Blondor (in our house spoken as "BLONDOR!!") bleach with 20 vol. developer and their pale silver toner.
