We have worked so hard for eight months (longer actually, my staff noticed news reports of impending pandemic in January and started extra-vigilant cleaning at the group home then without me saying a word) to protect the people we support and ourselves. I'm so angry at careless, foolish maskholes.

sj that socks. I hope yours is as bad as mine is. Also I highly recommend taking D Mannose (its the sugar in cranberry) if it's a mild enough UTI it can help reduce the duration and also it can help prevent it. Inhave started taking it again every day. It's not irritating like cranberry can be.

Laura I hope that this dinner will help start to repair your relationship with your son and his wife.

Work was stressful yesterday I don't know what happened in the morning but something did and the managers were all stressed and the store manager was texting about our fulfillment numbers constantly and adding extra stress. We finally got caught up but I had to stay late to help get things done.

We have a bunch of shifting around in management as one of the assistants for promoted to a store manager, and another assistant manager is going to another near by store to be acting store manager to cover a maternity leave and someone else who is quasi management is going with her.

The team manager i am working under right now got promoted to assistant manager and someone else got promoted to his role. So those roles are filled but we are still down an assistant manager and a really good lead person during the holidays.

And rumor has it that our store manager is still our store manager because of covid and the holidays other wise he would have been promoted out into a corporate position or head hunted by another department store. He is very very good at his job.

So it's added a lot of stress to everyone. Plus our online sales had been lower than expected and probably still are. Lower than the projections for pandemic holidays.

And we have been down 2 team managers because someone left right in Feb (I think) before layoffs and then there was a hiring freeze and someone else left this summer. The hiring freeze has only recently been lifted so I don't know if we will get replacements for them or not.

Last night I stayed because there was work to do and normally the 2 closing managers would stay but there was only 1 manager staying (the other had to leave before the store closed) and there has to be 2 people in the store so I volunteered. It will mean either an hour of overtime or they will send me home an hour early at the end of week to avoid me going into overtime.

I'm sorry about the ongoing work stress, askye.

Dinner was fine. I figured out I really just don't like going out anymore, even outside. If I want to socialize I can eat outside, on my back patio more comfortably. Other Mom was sympathetic and said she would talk to son, but was advocating for DH and I doing whatever it takes to fix it. As a parent I need to reach out to them and be a parent and grandparent, blah blah blah. Sorry, too soon. And no, I think it is the child's place to make it right when he has treated his parents badly. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Awful. I couldn’t sleep at all last night because of the pain. There was no comfortable position. I meet my new PCP at 2:30.

Laura I agree with you. Adult children need to be able to take the initiative to fix it. All you and DH can do is Lee the door open and dote on your grand baby as much as possible until it’s fixed.

It sucks until they get their head outta their own ass.

Thanks, Laura. I managed a bath and clean clothes which took everything out of me. I’m just going to lay on my bed and wait for TCG to come home and take me to the doctor.
