Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Ugh. Well that's lovely new element added to my migraine experience.

Our wings are not tired

I'm so sorry, I wouldn't wish my acid reflux on anyone.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I had thought that my hair had gone completely white but, since I stopped coloring it, it's a mixture of white, grey and the original dark brown. I'm thinking of putting in some streaks of blue, pink or something. The only problem is that they'd take FOREVER to grow out. sigh … decisions, decisions

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Our wings are not tired.

My hair is boring. A bit more than shoulder length. Just a few gray streaks. Maybe I will do something fun soon. My son's GF has one side of her hair blond (nearly white) and the other side black. It is cute as can be. But she is 23 so age appropriate.

I'm having a really hard time deciding what to do about my other son's baby shower. I will probably wait until the insanity that is tomorrow is over to make a decision. In the first place I really wanted them to have some type of alternative or virtual shower. But nope, they are having an outdoor BBQ event. Not sure how many people, maybe 30. I already told them that their grandmother isn't attending because she is 76 with a list of medical issues. But apparently the grandmother on her side is going. I don't want to go. I never wanted to go. I have a bunch of stuff from her registry from me, and my sister and niece. I can always drop the stuff off. But then we got into a spat, and it isn't resolved. So that makes me want to not go even more. But then again, I am the grandmother and should be an adult and just grit my teeth and show up. With a bunch of non-mask-wearing people. DIL's parents post pictures every single week going out to live music events at bars with bunches of non-mask wearing partiers. If I say I don't want to go because I'd rather not get sick and die they will still think it is because of the spat, which is also true.

Who knows, maybe my elation after tomorrow will rise to the level where it will be easier for me to show up where I don't feel appreciated. Blah.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

hmm if I do end up shaving my head I must try to film it.

Or at least before/after pics!!

Since I haven't gone to the salon since June I've been buzzing my own undercut/sidecut (what is the name for that hairstyle everyone seems to have these days where like 3/4 of your head is buzzed super-short and then there's a longer floppy bit on one side? that) and have gradually stepped down from a #3 guard to a #1. At some point I'll get a real haircut again and my stylist will either love it or gently explain that I should be coming to see her more often. (They are very Covid-safe - masks, cleaning, one client at a time, I just honestly can't be bothered when I'm not going to see anyone in person who's not my immediate family or some rando at the grocery store.)

I just err on the side of safety for you, Laura (for everyone!) -- don't go, especially if you know other people who will be there are not wearing masks in other close quarter situations, man. Totally my unsolicited opinion... you can always tell me to MYOB. I'm just so nervous for situations like that. Also, I don't have kids, so I don't REALLY know all the nuances and shit. I just want you safe!

I was just talking to my sister this morning about how we needed to buy more jammies and inside pants because we never go out.

Yeah, Jen. My option is going and being the lone (except for DH) person wearing a mask hanging far away from everyone. Or not going. Either way being a jerk, but a safer jerk if I stay home.
