Hello from the Adirondacks! I haven't unpacked the car, but I did unpack my computer and office phone because I have to work!
I survived the Saturday first leg of the trip. 11 hours to NC where I dropped off my sister. Slept fairly well on an air mattress, but not long enough. I drove another 8 hours on Saturday and was rewarded with Maria hugs in Harrisburg. Alas, I was brain tired and kind of like the kid that is wound up before collapsing into sleep. After she left my brain decided instead of sleeping it would think of all the stuff I wanted to talk to her about. Just means we have to get together again. But very grateful I went that route. Up again at 6 this morning and had an uneventful next leg of the trip.
When I got here no one had put my toilet back together from when the water was drained last fall. So after driving hours on windy mountain roads I had to put the tank back on the toilet and screw in all the bolts and attach the water line before I could pee!!!
Other than that I just have a bunch of cleaning and unpacking and shopping for food and stuffs to do. I figure there are 7 rooms in the house so if I do one a day it will be clean in a week. Works for me.

Eek, Laura--glad you made it but if I arrived and there was no toilet I'd be like "ok finding a hotel and dealing with this in the morning yo"
I have to admit being pretty impressed with how quickly I got it assembled! I feel like a real plumber or something. I always have the option of walking next door and using my step-dad's bathroom so it wasn't that urgent if it hadn't worked.
meara is me.
I'm glad you arrived safely, Laura. How did you manage to get everything in your car?
Glad you had a safe drive, Laura. Go you! on the plumbing.
I managed to get everything in the car I needed, no walker, and even brought about 50 books up here that were in the back bedroom. It was put them in storage with the rest of my books or bring them up here. They can stay in the trunk until I clean the living room where they will end up. That room is #1 in progress.
My nephew and family came over and my 7 yo great nephew snatched up a half dozen or so of the books I brought with me. He is on the 2nd Harry Potter and apparently the ones I brought are further along so he has them on hold. (I didn't read them) But he took some Narnias and King Arthur and Captain Underpants, of course!
Yes, he certainly sounds like a great nephew!
