Ugh, Hil. Good vibes to get through today the best you can.
Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
~ma for a painless day, Hil.
I got through my morning classes. I apologized to the students for being completely spacey today, said that I would have taken a sick day if there weren't about twenty people who'd murder me if I took a sick day on an exam day, and handed out a worksheet and put the answers on the overhead projector. And fixed several students' calculators. (That was mostly just clearing the memory to restore the factory defaults, because they'd accidentally deleted things they shouldn't have deleted.)
I have a Blue Sun logo patch on my wheelchair side bag. So far, three Chinese people have asked if it's from Japan.
Just got home. It's 12:30. Somehow, "We'll leave at 10 no matter what" became "It's 10, and we're almost done, so let's just finish up," and then that lasted until midnight.
Grrrr, Hil. That's frustrating.
People are so bad at gauging how long things will take.
My mom's in the hospital again. She's OK, but probably not going to be able to walk much for a couple weeks at least. And I'm halfway across the country and can't help with anything.
My mom used to joke that maybe my bro and I being born in different phases of the seventies made us really different despite not much of an age diff. Hope your mom's okay, Hil. My dad's got a new theme: the internet fucking up human connection. Which is sort of like hearing from David Simon about Downton Abbey or some shit, really. Not his wheelhouse.ETA: If I were a GIF-loving woman, that post would have Al Swearingen all "Thank the Lord, WU, that I introduced you to that." Really fed up with the fam in general, though. cause my brother won't stop waiting for my dad to morph into someone generous and loving who will help my mom pay for the new air conditioner(we didn't expect it.
My mom's back home, and she's doing better. She's walking with a walker, and was able to go up a few stairs to get into the house, which she hadn't been sure she'd been able to do. Nothing broken -- they'd thought at first that she had a hairline fracture in her hip.
