I've gotten "white-coat anxiety" so bad that they had to check me after the appointment since if it was that high, I'd be in trouble.
JZ, funny, but I was a tomboy at her age didn't care about clothes...we have more issues about clothes now.
OK, this is kind of stupid, but I'm sharing it here cause Bitches can guess why it's huge: Simon "liked" something I wrote, and there was disability in it. I mean, Hugh Grant still wins the net this week, but I'm feeling pretty unstoppable right now. Mikey ate my cereal, you know?
cereal: somebody just showed me America's wang and was like "erosion much?" as an argument against climate change being real...this is stupid, right? like right up there with "You could kill anyone with anything if you want to enough."
Blurping it out here since I can't anyplace more public: I think I just got out of jury duty in one of the weirder ways imaginable. I'm still officially in the potential jury pool for a Very Long Case projected to last until almost the end of January, but I'm pretty sure that when the defense team reads my potential juror questionnaire they will all hemorrhage out their eyeballs.
Class action suit, regarding price gouging from a for-profit medical center network that's one of my institution's rivals (and, huh, now I can guess why my division almost never gets any referrals from this group). Potential juror questionnaire, which was 15 pages long, included questions like: "Do you feel positive, negative or neutral about US-style capitalism? Please explain your answer."
Which I did. Oh, I did. The phrase "predatory and amoral at best" was involved.
I was also asked about my feelings WRT health insurance companies, and I may have used the word "vampires."
Also, I know for sure that I know one of the people on the potential witnesses, have voted for another, and about a dozen more sounded very familiar.
I'm theoretically supposed to go back on Emmett's birthday to find out if I am still in the potential juror pool, but if I am the defendant is doomed, because I have to have been about the shittiest potential juror in the room.
Also, Judd Winick was also in the potential jury pool. I didn't pounce on him because it just didn't seem the place or time, but I have never wished more dearly that I just happened to have some Juniper Lee swag and a Sharpie on me.
JZ, those are some quality responses right there.
ION, finally FINALLY, 11 days after he took the correct test for his Ritalin, the test result came back (pretty sure it was outsourced to another lab, and then there was Labor Day, but still, that's a long damn time), and the results show he has Ritalin in his system, which is the desired outcome.
What a damn circus, though. Sheesh.
Hi friends! Steph, that is some extreme stupidity on the doctors part in deed. I'm glad it finally worked out.
Tom, what everyone else said. You went, it's a win.
Skye, have you tried water aerobics? I keep meaning to do it for similar reasons but the times aren't convenient to me. It is fun, though. And a work out!
As you may have seen on Facebook or in Press, I am doing an AMA tomorrow to raise money for my organizer friend. Even if you can't afford a donation, I'd appreciate comments and stuff on the post so that more people could see it. So come by!
It is bonkers what Tim has gone through to get a damn renewal everyone involved in his life or healthcare has to know was appropriate and necessary. I'm glad for you and him, but what bullshit!
My ankle is hurting like hell, and I've got some massive brain fog along with it. If I'm still feeling like this tomorrow, teaching calculus is really not going to be fun.

Personally, I need an UnFoggy brain to even spell "calculus."
It took me several tries.
Oh dear, Hil. I hope you are feeling better today.
JZ, I would love to see the faces reading your questionnaire! Awesome.
