That's wonderful! My "lawn" is all just whatever - maybe a previous owner planted grass but it's just as likely it all invaded from the neighbors along with the salsify and other unidentified greenery. Unfortunately the natives are not winning, I'm gonna have to manage it more actively to get something reasonable out there. It's tricky, because xeriscaping and low-water requirements are so much the focus around here, but I live close to a marsh and have a high water table so those plants do not do well in my yard. I do have good insect and bird habitat, though.
Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
SHOE POST!
It's been a long time, friends. I just bought two pair of shoes:
Yay for summer sandals!
Yay sandals! I also had to invest in a couple new cheapo pairs because I have been doing a lot of beaching. Peace signs [link] and notes [link]
Quite comfy!
Oooh, old-school Dr. Scholl's!
Oooh, old-school Dr. Scholl's!Yasss! I love that they are modernized with the clear over-foot piece and the updated sole.
I ALSO bought two pairs of shoes on Tuesday. But I think I'm going to return one. Just can't quite decide. I wanted a pair of slip on shoes that would be comfortable to walk around in and be cute enough to wear with a skirt. Possibly Toms, but couldn't find those in a color I liked. Found two other pairs, but sadly I think the one I'll return is the cheaper pair! Oh well.
Shoe post: Hasbeens is having their 70% off sale. I am wearing a pair right now that I got at last year's sale, AIFG! [link]
Some good stuff on there! Which ones are you wearing?
Alas! I am restricted to flats due to arthritis in one foot (also means I can't have anything that binds across the ball of the foot). On the brighter side - and since this is Bitches - I offer you Rupert Giles, ripper of hearts and loins.

I haven't worn heels in years, since years before bunion surgery. This makes me the person in front of family pictures with all of his side and my kids being 6' and over. I could in theory try them again since my foot is fixed, but I think the highest I even own is maybe 2". Those were the days when I ran to subway stops in high heel pumps and bought bags of the rubber tips for them.
