Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Some good stuff on there! Which ones are you wearing?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Alas! I am restricted to flats due to arthritis in one foot (also means I can't have anything that binds across the ball of the foot). On the brighter side - and since this is Bitches - I offer you Rupert Giles, ripper of hearts and loins.

I haven't worn heels in years, since years before bunion surgery. This makes me the person in front of family pictures with all of his side and my kids being 6' and over. I could in theory try them again since my foot is fixed, but I think the highest I even own is maybe 2". Those were the days when I ran to subway stops in high heel pumps and bought bags of the rubber tips for them.

Yes, I used to wear heels most of the time ... even boots with heels (except in snow). sigh ... no more heels for me though ... and since the arthritis in that foot is especially bad these days, I have to wear my kind of clunky shoes that protect it

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yeah, the psoriasis precludes pressure of any kind, therefore, high (or no) toebox, loose across the instep, and very low to no heel. Mostly barefoot indoors (and no nylon--sensitivity), I spend outdoor time in Tevas--even in snow, and carry a pair of dry socks.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Venting time:

We have a chorus concert tonight (because I'm a damn genius). So, I am mostly staying off my feet today so I have some hope of not falling over during the concert (we do have chairs). My husband decided that he wanted to do the magnetic knife block project that has been on the list for over a year. Fine. I mean, the house is a mess, and people are coming over on Monday, but, whatever, fine. I cannot help. He's been in at least 4 times to ask my opinion on things/brainstorm how to do the project. THIS IS NOT MY PROJECT. I DID NOT SIGN UP TO HELP. Yes, I am laying on the sofa, occasionally getting up to do things like fold laundry for a bit, but that doesn't mean I want to hold brain space for the details of the project you decided to take on.

I posted on FB asking for good freezer meal recipes (open call, if anyone here has any). My MIL commented saying she was sending some to husband along with an offer to make any of them. A) Why are you sending them to him? He is not involved in this conversation at this point. I was doing a thing so that he wouldn't have to worry about it. B)Now I feel obligated to be all "sure, great" even if they're not something I would choose. (NB: she doesn't like to cook and I'm not terribly fond of her go-to recipes--which tend to be go-to because they're easy. When I'm at her house, I eat them because that's what you do, but I really don't want to have to deal with the Food of Social Obligation at my own house, a few weeks after giving birth)

{{Debet}} I'm sorry. You can probably tell DH that his mother is sending recipes and offering to cook, but that you are pretty fixed in the kind of nutrition you are going to need after birth and would rather plan this yourself.

As for the not your project, just say you are out of brane and use his best judgment.

Also, more {{{}}}.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

He was aware, as she not only emailed him, but texted him to tell him she was emailing, which is pretty on-brand.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Debet, I think you should sit during the concert, unless that's something you don't want to do. I speak as someone who sang in concerts three weeks after back surgery.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

There are a lot of small group numbers, so I will already be sitting about every other song. Beyond that, I'll see how I feel as we go. I'm definitely in the "better to sit down than fall down" camp, so I'll be paying attention.
