I apologize for forgetting that Scrappy the Human has been spayed. I am glad that human surgery does not involve a cone of shame.
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I love how you just drop the boingo thing all cazh
Word. Is Elfman playing with them?
If it is the stuff around LA that it's usually tribute show put together by Johnny Vatos and some other members of the band. Steve Bartek will occasionally play with them, but I'm not aware of Elfman having any involvement.

I got to go backstage and drill them with questions about 70s Los Angeles.

Bartek did play on this occasion, and it was about 2/3rds original members I'd hazard. Vatos, Bartek, Avila, Sluggo were the ones I recognized.
No Elfman present. But their ringer singer was good, and the band was tight as a drum-head. It was great hearing songs like "Grey Matter" and "No One Lives Forever" live.
Seething with Oingo Boingo jealousy, even sans Elfman.
Elfman seems to be of the type that doesn't look backward, so it is rare to see him even speak fondly of the Oingo Boingo years in interviews. It was a treat seeming him to a few songs with Bartek and the LA Philharmonic after the Halloween live performance of Nightmare Before Christmas at the Hollywood bowl, but that seems to be as close as we are ever going to get.

He's not interested in being a rock musician at all anymore. I don't know why anybody would begrudge the band playing the songs. Nobody else plays like them with that combination of precision and chaos. It's not like they're doing disco knockoffs for money.
Vatos had recently seen Danny's new String Quartet - which he praised to the heavens. Said it was one of the best things Danny's ever done. I don't think there's any enmity there.
I didn't love the new singer at first. He could sing it okay (indeed he's got more range than Danny) but was only on some of the more twisted songs later where he basically played it like a character, inhabiting the lyrics like an actor that I got into it. More than one actor gets to be Sherlock Holmes. More than one singer gets to sing those songs.
I'd say that's accurate. Danny is forward looking. He is happy that the folks that were part of Oingo Boingo still have a piece of it and are doing great things with it, he just has no interest in being part of it any longer. I've been in the orbit of a few folks close to Bartek and Elfman over the years, and a long time ago worked on a Disney project with Steve. It strike me that they are all still friendly and supportive, they just all found their own paths and that the overall arc of Oingo Boingo wasn't going to be part of that past 1995. I was at their final concert and it was truly amazing. Part of me wishes there had been more to come after that, but I also understand that sometimes a chapter closes.
It's been very cool and pleasant out. I had yesterday off and spent it with mom. We got pedicures and just hung out.
Sunday at work was the first time in weeks I haven't gotten overheated and today was the same way. Plus it was quieter in the stockroom. No one was yelling and carrying on.
It made me realise that I'm physically miserable at work and it will only get worse as it gets hotter. It's pushing me into a level of almost sensory overload which makes it harder to act neurotypical which is causing some issues with my co workers.
It wasn't until I got a break from the heat that I realised how much it is effecting me at work and at home
So Thursday I'm going to talk to my supervisor and explain and ask if there is anyway I can transfer to another dept. I won't get commission but I would get a change in pay from what I made before.
