Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Roasting a Cadbury egg does not seem like a good idea.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

If Texans can deep-fry a Snickers, Shir can roast a Cadbury egg.

What is even happening?

If Texans can deep-fry a Snickers, Shir can roast a Cadbury egg.

She could tell really mean jokes about it.

[Shir, if that gets lost in translation, I mean this kind of roast: [link]

OMG, Cadbury matzo fondue!

I don't know what that is, but I believe you can do it.

Our wings are not tired.

Things here are pretty focused on trying to find a way to fix #1 son. Things have gotten worse. His incredible roommates, all 4 of them, came over to talk to me about him yesterday. Apparently he and several other neighbors OD'd big time, as in 7 ambulances and about 50 EMS, cops, and so forth frantically doing CPR. Son was one of those brought to the hospital after they revived him. No, he never told me. Roommates thought I needed to know. They asked me to get him out of he house so they could get rid of this drug addict girlfriend and clean his room. I had work for him to do, so I picked him up and brought him here to shower and change. They took girl back to where she had been staying in Lauderdale and did what they could to clean his pigsty room.

They asked if I could pick him up daily and make him do something. He has gone as long as a month without showering, staying in his room sleeping or on his computer. So after he did the computer install I took him out to dinner then went to the house. He was fine with them cleaning his room and taking friend home. Then this morning I picked him up earlyish and fed him breakfast and had him go to the dog park with me to watch Skinner run and get some fresh air.

He is complaining non-stop about his chest pain and stomach issues, but has not told me the reason. He may not even realize it is from the 10+ minutes of frantic CPR on his bony chest. He is very thin.

Anyway, I treasure the kids he lives with for saving his life and caring enough to let me know. One said he was going to man to man with him and tell him that he has to tell me what happened. Kid doesn't realize that no matter what he will spin it where it wasn't his fault, because he never has taken responsibility for anything.

Anyway, I just told him that I was really concerned about his obvious failing health and was on a mission to get him healthy. So, picking him up and getting him outside, feeding him, giving him work tasks to do. He did some laundry and I bought a mattress cover and sheets since he was sleeping on a bare mattress.

I'm heartsick, but no there is limited control I have over the situation. All I know is my sister and my best friend both lost their sons, and they ask themselves every day if they could have done anything more to save them. They will never heal.

eta: I think he might have a cracked rib because when I hugged him when he left just now he winced and said his chest hurts and can't take pressure. Again, he claims to not know why. Sigh.

Oh, Laura. That is so hard. Love to you and best wishes for him.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Laura, it's good that your son has roommates that will take care of him. He probably doesn't know how lucky he is.

Is there any way to get him to a doctor about his chest/rib? At least take care of one problem?

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Oh, Laura, I can't even imagine. So much love to you. And a hope for a change of heart/attitude/what-have-you for him.
