I typically wear Docs and they are not nearly tall enough. I may stop by the costume shop to see if they have any platforms that would fit me.
'Shells'
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I will admit, swaggering around in platform boots that made me really tall felt good. (The swaggering was because I couldn't walk straight.)
My walking boot (as opposed to them sittin' boots)
These boots are made for walking,
and that's just what they'll do.
And some day these boots
are gonna walk all over you.
Love that song.
There's a story behind Nancy Sinatra's recording of that song. When she first approached it, she was advised to sing it in the voice of a 13-year-old girl in love with an older man. It didn't work, to say the least.
Then one of the producers pointed out that Nancy wasn't a child. In fact, she'd been married. So he suggested that she sing it "for the truckers out there." She did, and the rest is history.
And it's now playing on my radio....
aurelia, could you get inserts for your shoes? The kind RDJ wears to be Tony Stark?
Oh, that's what my dr recommended for my tendinitis (thanks for that link, aurelia, very interesting), inserts. I picked up some "lifts" that are 1.5-2" thick and fit ok in most of my shoes, if that would be enough to raise up your other leg in line with the boot. I think they make thicker ones but I haven't tried them.
Definitely get something the same height as your boot, or you will fuck up your hip.
Absolutely. My DIL just finished wearing a boot for a heel fracture and I think her hips bothered her more than the foot.
I have no blood left! They took 7 vials. I drank 50 oz of water from the time I got up until I got to the doctor to make it as easy as possible with my stupid veins. It did help because he got it first try and took all the vials without having to restart anything. Also, the phlebotomist at my PCP's office rocks. In the past if he didn't get it the first try he would always ask if I wanted to try again or come back another time.
I got home from work at 1am and tried various shoes and insole combos until 2am. I've currently got a newish Docs (soles not worn down and not as squishy as the shoe I was wearing yesterday) with a Dr Shoals insole under the orthotic insole I've been using. I could probably use another 1/4". My other option is a chunky 2.5" heeled boot which is about a 1/2" too tall. I'll keep looking at insole options.
