It's all about choices, Faith. The ones we make, and the ones we don't. Oh, and the consequences. Those are always fun.

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

Living with someone and having such a long commute is hard.

I havent heard anything more about the job. But I need to call them and update my phone number. I switched to Straight Talk to get off mom's plan and have more data. I ended up changing my phone number and lost my Vermont number. I'm kind of sad. It was the last big thing to let go of.

Today was long for several reasons but there were more markdowns including a 5 quart Kitchen Aid stand mixer that was on clearance for $150 but I got for less because of my discount. I didn't really need to spend the money but I don't know when I would find one for that price.

I'm thinking about getting a weighted blanket (trying a bunch of stuff to try to sleep better/not clench my teeth/not wake up with a headache). Anyone have any recommendations or "dont Buy this brand/kind"? I'd really like to look at it and hold it in person but I'm not sure where I'd find one—I thought target had some but they aren't showing as available for store pickup so I hadn't gone there yet.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Bed Beth and Beyond had some in store, but I think they were fancy Brookstone type. I know Steph linked to a kickstarter for one that had some kind of interesting feature, but in general, I think they're mostly the same.

I got mine from Sensacalm. You can't hold it or touch it but he company offers a lot of customizable options including a variety of sizes, weights, and fabric options. It's more expensive than many places you can get but it's a small business that has been doing this for a while. I have my blanket thanks to Mom.

The size of the blanket dictates how the weight is distributed you can get most sizes in most weights but a smaller throw size will have the weight more concentrated. I have a full size blanket , it fits the top of a full size bed but doesn't hang over. I sleep on my side so I wanted something that could cover my front and back. However at times there isn't enough weight directly on top of me even though the blanket is heavy.

I also picked the 25 lb weight because of y actual weight. The blanket is heavy and can be a pain to move around but it does help. I also have draped it over my shoulders and back so I can sit up with the weight and that has worked.

Pay attention to the weight guidelines Dad slept under mine and liked it and bought one that was the same weight even though he weighs much less than I do and it's too heavy for him to comfortably use.

I havent moved the weighted blanket yet it's still at moms because I need the help sleeping there and I'm not sure how I'm going to get the blanket to work down here sharing a bed with Matthew and at times 2 cats.

Trudy, insent.

Askye, when do you hear for sure about the job?

I have been emailing my therapist when I think of things that I don't want to forget before our next session. There's been a lot, and she doesn't do therapy over the phone or by email, but she does encourage me to let her know stuff whenever, and she'll respond during our sessions, so that works for both of us. Anyway, I just sent her some stuff and she said it helps her, and it'll be great for my book! Which made me laugh and start thinking of crazy titles... and I didn't mean that crazy the way it might sound like I meant that crazy. Off the wall titles. Huh. That's not a lot better.

serial:

The Big Lebowski, thumbs up or thumbs down?

I had read that it's either a love it or hate it film, and I finally got around to seeing it about a month ago, and it's one I think I could see again (which is rare for me). I loved it but Greg didn't. I think he found it kind of boring and incomprehensible.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Love it

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Love it. It's famously rewatchable. The sort of movie where if you were channel hopping and came across it, you would be sucked in.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I found it pretty thoroughly boring but I realize this makes me a pariah in most social circles.
