She did. Well, at least she gave us a variety of sizes, from NB through 9 months or so, so it's not wear-once-and-done.
'Out Of Gas'
Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
My eldest son was the first grandchild on DH's side. My MIL must have been buying and putting aside things for her grandchild for decades. Her joy at getting things for the boys was so great that I couldn't deny her. All of her grandchildren are boys so if the first great grandchild is a girl she no doubt has a closet full of stuff that is super girly.
My mom saves a fair bit of stuff from when I and my brother were kids, so we have some vintage Fisher Price for the Samlet. One of those Nursery-Rhyme themed play panels, a pull-along rotary phone, and a wobbly apple that makes pleasant chiming sounds.
HAPPY APPLE!
We have my brother's old Happy Apple here. My Happy Apple was the slightly earlier version with the curved stem and the stem broke. Apparently, Happy Apple was my favorite thing ever.
I was happy that Bobby told me he wanted the crib we used for him and his brother. It was my mother's that she used for all of us, and she bought it used. He did say he would get a new mattress for it though and gave the old mattress to my dog!
They aren't pregnant, nor trying, but they talk about it.
Oh! I am sort of a grandmother, in that Nick's girlfriend has a 6 yo girl who is freakin' adorable. So is the girlfriend, honestly. I'm very happy for him to be happy and for her to have such a great guy.
Well done, Deena! You didn't even have to change diapers or deal with toddler tantrums.
Congratulations, Deena! And you too, Laura.
I have my crib, bought new for baby me. Both my kids used it, though I turned down the matching high chair that folded so that the base made a play table--too big for the small spaces we lived in. I didn't offer the crib for actual baby use, since it no longer meets safety guidelines, and at present, it's used as display. And oh my, yes, we had to buy a new mattress. The old one was long gone.
Glitter is gender neutral and ALWAYS an appropriate present for an infant. Always.
