My darlings. I have the spoons to send love to you all.
Tornado in town here last night while I was at work. Daniel & the cats were and are safe, no damage at home. At work we were all safe, no major damage, but there is still no power or phone service. The tornado sirens went off so much that I got confused about the all-clear, and suggested we simply hang out in the basement living area so we could get to the bathroom quickly if need be. And then I heard a rumbling that was not thunder. I used Command Voice. People moved themselves quickly. We were safe.
I'm tired.
Oh dear, WindSparrow. The people you keep safe are so fortunate to have you in their lives. May the rest of the day be quiet and lead to a restful evening.
Thanks, Cindy! That was a top-notch tune!!!
Andi, I'm so glad that you and your residents are safe. (Glad about Daniel and the kitties, too, but it sounds like you were closer to the tornado than they were, so your proximity is scarier.)
I posted my silly wedding slideshow on FB if anyone wants to take a gander at it.
Also, after Tim left for work, I found a present he hid for me to find -- a Spider-Man Christmas ornament (with a little note stuck on the box that says "Happy Anniversary"). True love is knowing what a perfect anniversary present that is for me.
And then in various FB groups people are talking about ASMR videos and on Twitter because YouTube has been demonetizing them 4chan misogynistic assholes are reporting them for making money off sex related things even though its not sex related
What the fuck??? Argh! So much rage
True love is knowing what a perfect anniversary present that is for me.
And it is beautiful to witness. Happy anniversary!
As for the tornado, work is in one end of town, home is in the middle of town, and the tornado hit hard at the other end of town, so technically Daniel and the cats were closer. However, one of the main roads between home and work is a gracious, tree lined avenue. Many of the gracious old trees are down, blocking the road, having done who-knows-what-all damage on the way down. I'm assuming that the trees took out some of the electricity infrastructure.
Tornado damage is such a horror. Is your power still out?
Yikes, Andi! Glad you're all okay.
There is something weird going on with one of Harvey's eyes. His 3rd eyelid is half-across the eye. Based on how he is acting - appetite is good, energy level damn good for a 20 year old cat with back and kidney problems, no discharge, no change in mobility - waiting until morning to get him seen is fine.
But it freaks me out because it makes his one eye look they way they did in the dream the other day. I haven't mentioned that detail to Daniel because I don't want to worry him.
Note to self: Remember the message of the dream was, "it isn't time to give up yet."
P.S. I just checked a variety of sites with lists of "this is an emergency, yes call the on-call vet and make them get out of bed to meet you at the clinic now" symptoms, and this does not qualify as an emergency.
If Harvey were my cat I'd assume it was a temporary case of sleepy eye and check it in the morning.
Hoping for good kitty karma for you.
