True love is knowing what a perfect anniversary present that is for me.
And it is beautiful to witness. Happy anniversary!
As for the tornado, work is in one end of town, home is in the middle of town, and the tornado hit hard at the other end of town, so technically Daniel and the cats were closer. However, one of the main roads between home and work is a gracious, tree lined avenue. Many of the gracious old trees are down, blocking the road, having done who-knows-what-all damage on the way down. I'm assuming that the trees took out some of the electricity infrastructure.
Tornado damage is such a horror. Is your power still out?
Yikes, Andi! Glad you're all okay.
There is something weird going on with one of Harvey's eyes. His 3rd eyelid is half-across the eye. Based on how he is acting - appetite is good, energy level damn good for a 20 year old cat with back and kidney problems, no discharge, no change in mobility - waiting until morning to get him seen is fine.
But it freaks me out because it makes his one eye look they way they did in the dream the other day. I haven't mentioned that detail to Daniel because I don't want to worry him.
Note to self: Remember the message of the dream was, "it isn't time to give up yet."
P.S. I just checked a variety of sites with lists of "this is an emergency, yes call the on-call vet and make them get out of bed to meet you at the clinic now" symptoms, and this does not qualify as an emergency.
If Harvey were my cat I'd assume it was a temporary case of sleepy eye and check it in the morning.
Hoping for good kitty karma for you.
I know things that seem like no big deal in a younger cat can be more worrisome in an older kitty, and you wouldn't be concerned if you didn't love Harvey so much. But I also agree this is something that can wait until morning.
Lots of stress in the air. Not sure if this is cause of it or a focus for diffuse stress.. Anyway, thank you all for your encouragement.
I hope you and Harvey had restful nights, Andi.
Thanks, Laura. Harvey got a lot more sleep than I did. And he has an appointment at 11:30am today. Now I'm going to go back to bed for a bit.
