Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

OMG, I just had the funniest political argument EVER, about football players and the knee and such...right winger's all "you take a job, you get paid, selling a product, blah." Which is all predictable and slightly dehumanizing till this woman says "What if the beatles stopped their songs to put *messages* in them?" And I'm like "They did. For years." Imagine thinking you were gonna own with that. Of course, I'm a fan so she also got my thoughts on Gerry and the Pacemakers. #MiniHecubus

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I have officially made arrangements to rent a scooter for the 5 days I'll be working DCC. The gal I spoke with was a hoot. Once we got past the business side of the rental, we chatted for a moment and ended with her saying "beyond the actual need for a scooter, they are so much fun, have a blast". Ummmm ok.

I got my hotel assignment, I'm actually staying where I was last year, but I only have to pay for two nights.

Now I still have a ton of data manipulation to do, forms to create, delegated tasks to check on...AND FINISH MY SCHOOL PAPERS. They are getting done this weekend, one way or another.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My bedroom and kitchen are now pretty much cleaned up. Living room has a few things on the floor, but not much. Bathroom still needs to be done.

Also, still have not heard back from my doctor about that blood test.

I'm supposed to tell my landlord a week before I leave, but I can't plan on leaving until I know whether my doctor wants to do any more tests or anything.

Thanks, Tangent. I'm finding my sympathy for football players...somewhat unexpected, because I've always had problems with football's whole...ethos, to get Lebowski about it. I judged the players and the viewers of it(and it wouldn't take much for me to start doing it again, probably) but there is something that strikes me so wrong that players trying to use their enormous clout to say something about the wider world is what makes the owners change things up. Not any of the many other million scandals or mini-scandals(or the dudes with the broken brains, which, actually, might be related to the other crap, honestly.)But the idea that, because someone pays you to do something, whether handsomely or not, they own your life? Definitely something we all have to speak out about(yes, it's totally worse when wrinkly old white guys do it to strong, younger black guys, but it also reminds me of that forced-arbitration crap, too, so that football fan? in my view, is arguing for her own oppression by some corporate giant.)

Yeah, not a particular football fan myself, but...as you say. During all the drama about whether or not the Chargers would leave San Diego, I generally responded to questions that the Chargers were Whiny Little Bitches and I hoped they would leave so we wouldn't have to keep hearing about it. However, I still believe that those Whiny Little Bitches have First Amendment rights. And I've had it up to here with old, rich, white guys trying to determine which rights the rest of us are worthy of.

Hil, why do you have to tell your landlord anything about when you leave? Are you expecting him to do something to the apartment while you're gone?

Definitely feeling the whole stadium-pain thing, ET. But, rights are rights--I've even changed my mind about Tebowing, even though I do think he is a self-righteous twirp, but I'd let him do it, hopefully next to some guy in a Trust Women shirt.

Hil, why do you have to tell your landlord anything about when you leave? Are you expecting him to do something to the apartment while you're gone?

I'm going to be gone for a few months, so I'd told him that, and asked him what I should do with the air conditioner while I'm gone (whether to leave it running at 80 or something, or just turn it off, or what -- I've had issues at other apartments with condensation with stuff like that.) And that's when he freaked out about the clutter in my apartment, and told me to tell him a week before I leave, so that he can do a walk-through.

And there are a couple of repairs that I'd like him to do while I'm gone -- one of my walls is crumbling.
