What'd you all order a dead guy for?

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Went back to the Dr Who convention after (beekaytee is brilliant, BTW - I volunteered to help at this one and totally met new people [no prospects for "more than friends", but a couple/few really excellent friend prospects, yay!] and had a much better time than going on my own [plus got in free, yay!]), and hung out there until after closing.

That is awesome, Epic! The Con family is an excellent family. I hope you can build on those connections. Best wishes for your mom, and quick healing ~ma to you.

Thanks, Suzi. It's all a mystery to me. I absolutely hate taking so many antibiotics, but as my dying friend says, "you don't want to mess with an infection in your HEAD."

I need a nap, that is for sure.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

The Con family is an excellent family.

I love my con family. Went out to dinner and games with some of them Saturday night and had a blast.

beekaytee, your friend is wise. That statement goes along with the "if you can't breathe, take the danged prednisone...breathing is not optional".

Puppy update, Jessy has moved from sleeping on my right foot to my left.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

The endoscopy/colonoscopy results showed nothing, not even an ulcer. Which would be good news, except that it means there's no obvious explanation for the stomach pain. I don't remember talking to the doctor afterwards, but Tim was there, and he said that the doctor said it's entirely possible the pain is just from excess acid production, especially since it went away almost (but not quite) entirely when I started taking Nexium. So his recommendation is to keep taking it and follow up with him in 2-3 weeks and reevaluate.

Don't get me wrong; I'm glad it isn't something awful (although after my CT scan and MRI results were good, I wasn't expecting something awful). I just hoped for a definitive diagnosis of an easily treatable problem. So I'll stick with the Nexium and see what happens.

Sheesh. Lot of trouble for a stomach that's deciding to act all "Who, me? Nothing to see here!"

Yeah, sounds like really bad acid reflux, Teppy. My endoscopy and colonoscopy also showed nothing when I had them, but I have terrible reflux. There are things you can cut out of your diet that is supposed to help. Sadly it is mostly the fun things.

Man, just once I want to be told "You have to cut out asparagus! And most booze is okay, but avoid gin like the plague." Because I would be ON IT.

That said, I do not want to know -- at least tonight -- if a big ol' burger is one of the things I should cut out, because that is totally my dinner plan.

I started taking the all day, all the time, for 10 days, antibiotic this evening. Hoping for the best with the sinus infection of stealth.

Man. Eliminating the irritants can be so irritating.

Just recently, my blood pressure, which has always been freakishly low, shot up to the 130s and my heart got all fluttery.

My move was to cut out extra salt...which has been the joy of my entire life. Not even kidding. And, it seems to be working. Bleh. I'm trying not to think about it being forever, but I'm wondering if being post-the big M means that this is the case.

Steph, I hope your process is an easy one.

Burgers are fine, coffee, tea, chocolate, and wine were the big ones I remember.

All the asparagus and gin for me!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I just took four Advil, which I'm sure my stomach will object to, but I'm rationing the real painkillers.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm trying to cut way down on the carbs, which completely blows. Although, as I told my friend, it has to be better than my previous plan of just shoving everything in my cakehole.

It is difficult to eat Thai food without rice.

My trigger thumb came back, and I made an appointment with the hand surgeon, but he can't see me until October 3, so I guess I'm just supposed to deal with excruciating pain and limited use of my right hand until then? Oh, and three of my four classes have midterms this week that I need to grade.

I ordered in spaghetti with marinara, because I'm exhausted and everything hurts I can't pick things up well enough to cook safely, and spaghetti was what I wanted.
