Epic, how are you? I hope your mom is doing better.
'Safe'
Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Epic, tons of ~ma to your mom and you. I can't remember if I said something earlier, but I have been sending good thoughts your way.
Suzi, sounds like you might have found a new companion....
Possibly, but I'm not taking both of them and there are different things I like about each. Jessy sleeps on my feet while I work, she is older than Crowley, and I've always had female pets (Jack doesn't count as he is Kelly's). But she is pretty small and not likely to grow much more, she hasn't been keen on learning how to sit, and she is barky when we are out back and someone walks by (Jack is still learning that people are allowed to do that).
Crowley is utterly adorable, his name is THE BEST, he is actually learning how to sit, and he will grow a bit larger into a medium/small dog. But he is currently very much a puppy. He happily chews on both appropriate and inappropriate things. He has ripped holes in two corners of Jack's old dog bed and he is still trying to figure out the peeing outside thing.
Arrrggg. We have decamped from my office to the back yard. Jack is utterly NOT impressed with the puppies.
BRENDA!!!
BRENDA!!!
BRENDA!!!
(eta: I got so excited typing that, I hit the post button by mistake....THAT's how excited I am.)
I am overjoyed for you, Brenda. CongratuWELLEFFINGDone. That is amazing.
Seriously. So cool.
Ulcer ~ma, Steph. Simple-fix ~ma in abundance as well.
I just left you an FB message about some drug stuff, for when you have a minute.
Short story, I'm begin prescribed antibiotics like candy and have taken 4 rounds of different ones over the last 3 months. Now, the endodontist tells me I need to take 1500mg (3x500) per day for 10 days. That seems like a massive mallet for a sinus infection.
Except for the congested feeling under my eye and the tooth pain, I have no sinus symptoms. How can that be?
I guess the good news is that my root canal has not actually gone bad, as I had expected.
That is good news beekaytee, about the root canal not going bad. In my experience, sinus infections can present differently from what you expect. I've had a few and the latest one I was sure was a tooth issue and was shocked that it was my sinuses.
I have a puppy asleep on my foot. I'm not allowed to move now.
Epic, how are you? I hope your mom is doing better.
I'm doing okay, rough day today because of the crazy weekend, but I'm at work and plugging along.
I had to park super far away from the 5k, then after the 5k, when I was walking back to my truck, I missed it somehow (Mission Bay Drive, one looong road, parked on opposite side with no real landmarks to go by, but walked back on the Bay side and must have been behind something as I passed where I parked), and ended up walking at least a quarter/half mile out of my way, then had to backtrack. My Fitbit is happy, at least; I'm sore.
Went back to the Dr Who convention after (beekaytee is brilliant, BTW - I volunteered to help at this one and totally met new people [no prospects for "more than friends", but a couple/few really excellent friend prospects, yay!] and had a much better time than going on my own [plus got in free, yay!]), and hung out there until after closing.
Went to the hospital to visit Mom after that. The bloodflow to her foot is improved, the infection is clearing up, and surgery is scheduled for tomorrow to remove the toe (just the toe, AFAIK). She's been complaining about the pain in her back, so we were concerned that she hurt it in her most recent fall. They tried to MRI her to check it out, but they gave her Ativan because she hates MRIs so much, then it turns out the Ativan gives her seriously crazy, lucid semi-waking dreams or something and she kept trying to crawl out of the MRI so they had to give up on it. Thankfully, one of the doctors realized today that they said she could have pain meds when she asked for them, but she forgot or misunderstood so she hasn't been asking for them, so she wasn't getting any at all (she's been on 2-3 percosets a day for YEARS for her back pain), so the dr just put her on for every 6 hours, so hopefully that will start improving as well. So, we've still got a way to go, but hopefully the end (of this episode, at least) is in sight.
Meanwhile, I've semi-lost my voice. And somehow burst a blood vessel in my eye at some point yesterday afternoon. So I look like hell. But I felt like it was a good reason to skip makeup and contact lenses, so I got to sleep an extra 15 minutes at least. Silver linings, yo.

That is awesome, Epic! The Con family is an excellent family. I hope you can build on those connections. Best wishes for your mom, and quick healing ~ma to you.
Thanks, Suzi. It's all a mystery to me. I absolutely hate taking so many antibiotics, but as my dying friend says, "you don't want to mess with an infection in your HEAD."
I need a nap, that is for sure.
The Con family is an excellent family.
I love my con family. Went out to dinner and games with some of them Saturday night and had a blast.
beekaytee, your friend is wise. That statement goes along with the "if you can't breathe, take the danged prednisone...breathing is not optional".
Puppy update, Jessy has moved from sleeping on my right foot to my left.
