Cedar, my dad's hound mix, sounds like she's being murdered when you give her a bath. Given that she likes rolling in stinky things, she gets murdered frequently.
Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
My only concern is that we did hear her howling as we came home.
I used to have upstairs neighbours who adopted a husky with separation anxiety & who howled the whole time they were gone. If we hadn't had a neighbour who worked from home they may have never known for a long time. They did manage to train it out of her.
My only concern is that we did hear her howling as we came home.
I did see my next door neighbor this afternoon and asked him. He said they didn't hear anything.
The lady liked Penelope but wants her granddaughter to meet her before officially adopting her, so she is back with me for tonight and hopefully off to a forever home tomorrow.
Now I have about an hours worth of work more tonight and then a couple of hours of school work. Wheeeee.
I hope Penny gets a new home! Pennys are good pets.
My Penny caught a baby snake that was in the house. It died (I think) when I took it out. I keep wondering what she would bring home if she were allowed outdoors unsupervised.
I'm very very tired and I think it's PMS. Not sleepy just feeling exhausted and I haven't done much.
M invited me to Sunday to a joint birthday party for his sister and niece. So I'm going to that, probably come back. Not really wanting to stay over on Monday. Timewise it's not bad, it's just under an hour BUT It's down the Blue Ridge Escarpment and so often the suggested speed limit is 15 miles an hour and there is the issue of cyclists so it's more of an issue with driving.
Suzi, you're an inspiration. Work, pups, family, school--it's so impressive!
I hope Penny gets a new home!
If she were staying with me, I would absolutely be calling her Penny instead of Penelope.
Work, pups, family, school
Thank you, but I don't know how impressive. At least 90% of all that is done from home. So pretty lazy.
ETA please ignore everything after "Thank you". Accepting compliments is hard, yo.
So, spent much of the day at the hospital yesterday with Mom. She's been admitted again. The vascular surgeon seemed less upbeat than previously about what can be done, what can be saved, etc. She's definitely losing another toe, but they're also talking about metatarsal something or other (where they'd basically just take everything from the end of the foot) and the words "saving the foot" also came up, scaring her and me both. Waiting today for the vascular guy to try to fit her into his schedule to see what he can do about blood flow (if anything) and for them to decide from there the best path forward. Since that's not quite tricky enough, they have to be SUPER CAREFUL with the antibiotics because they need to knock down the infection but have to try to prevent a recurrence of the c.dif. I'm so tired of all this, and I feel so bad for her 'cause it's obviously a hundred times worse for her than me.
Meanwhile, I still went last night to the Dr Who convention hotel because I had volunteered to help with setup. Thankfully there was almost nothing to do, so I mostly just hung around chatting with people, so that was pleasant. I promised to help with the party tonight as well, so trying to squeeze in a visit to my mom after work and still get there on time should be a trick.
Then I have packet pickup tomorrow morning for my 5K on Sunday morning, plus seeing Mom in the hospital and the convention both days. I was already concerned about how full this weekend was before adding in hospital visits, so this should be...interesting.
Oh dear, Epic. I hope the treatment isn't too traumatic for your mother, and you.
Finally catching up on the news and here. Hope I didn't seem all mememe in my earlier post - I literally hadn't seen any news or read in here since Wednesday. Mother of Pearl, did I miss the memo on the end of the world? So much ~ma for those of you with loved ones in danger.
~ma for your mom, Epic, and may you enjoy the good parts of your weekend, with as little worry and stress as possible.
We had rain this morning, complete with thunder. It lasted a couple of hours, and while the sky is still cloudy, they are actual *clouds*, not just a solid pall, and between the clouds are glimpses of a *blue* sky.
I wish the rain had included south and east of here, but I'm grateful to be able to breathe easier.
