Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I'm sure it would be okay to contact your therapist. This is what she's there for.
Steph if you need to talk please FB message me, email me whatever if you want.
Sending you lots of strength ~ma.
I was in a high level of distress 2 years ago when I was admitted in the hospital. It was voluntary on my part and really only because I had no support system in place and my therapist was out of town.
I hope that your therapist and the doctors are able to help the best way that they can.
I'm so sorry your distress is so high right now, Steph. I hope you can figure out a plan for getting help, without adding extra anxiety.
Hearts to buffistas helping buffistas.
My therapist said to take a whole Ativan (I usually take half), and it's okay to take it now (there's an hour to go before the 8-hour interval on the label, and the dose I took at 9 a.m. was a half tablet anyway). She said if that doesn't dial my distress way down, to go to the psych ER but to call her first. I do have an appointment at 10 tomorrow morning with her (my regular appointment), and she said if I can make it until then, great, but if not, that's okay too.
So I'm full of extra Ativan now, and waiting for it to kick in.
I appreciate all of you SO much.
Steph glad you talked to her and you have a plan.
I just remembered there's a good app called What's Up that has distress tolerance/grounding techniques and I've found it really helpful in the past. I use the name 5 things a lot but I make up my own categories - (listing things like 5 episodes of Community, 5 Burger specials from Bob's Burgers, etc) Also Paced Breathing has been good for me.
I will not speak for all, but I appreciate the hell out of you, Teppy. And I'm sure I'm not alone.
Tippy, I'm glad you got in touch with your therapist. She seems like a good one. I also appreciate the hell out of you and want you to be safe.
I'm so glad you have a plan, Steph. Please take care of you as best you can. (FYI, I'm wearing the blue polka dotted t-shirt with matching Chucks and thinking of you).
