Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I will check in with my SoCal friends for recommendations, Epic. I like the way you think.

About 10 years ago, a dog park friend of mine was super depressed about her love life. Her friends set up 8 dates in 8 days. My friend married Date #2 and I did the flowers for their wedding. They now have two adopted daughters and a beautiful life.

There are two guys I really liked at AwesomeCon, but one is only 40 (I know age is just a number, but 17 years is a stretch for a man who might still want kids...I think) and the other is a very cool DJ. They both drink more than I like, but they are salt-o-the earth types.

May you find that type soon, and for keeps!

If my friends had 8 single men, I'd be willing to try this strategy!

This is what makes me hesitant with guys too much younger than me, though that's what I've always been attracted to. Cute IT guy who's turning 36 this month could want - and still have - a half dozen kids; at 46, I'd be lucky to have 1 (and hesitant due to the health risks). Good luck with your prospects - hope one of them turns out to suit what you're looking for.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Darn it, Comic Store Guy! Your loss, dude.

Oh bless, neither one are prospects for me.

Seriously, if I weren't old enough to be his mother, the first one would be in my sights. We've had excellent conversations and, except for being less confident than I would like, he is SO attractive to me. But 17 years is just too much of a stretch...which seems ironic since my husband was 15 years older than me and it was awesome while it lasted.

Other dude and I have had great convos too, but he's not looking so I will enjoy what we do have.

Edited to Add: volunteering at geeky conventions is a GREAT way to find the right type.

Well, friends are good too, if that's the way things go.

Noted. I don't know of any soon, but WhoCon is early October, I think. And only in their second year, so probably welcoming of volunteers.

Every con loves volunteers, even the grandmaster cons!

Technically, I believe THE Comic-Con has some pretty tight volunteer rules/regulations, because of all the people who couldn't get/couldn't afford tickets and want to use a volunteer shift for free admission. But I have no doubt they are the exception, not the rule.

Interesting. Some of my Awesome Con peeps fly out to work that show. I can ask if anyone knows someone if you are interested.

Meh. It's turned into such a huge circus that I kind of feel like it's better to avoid the whole mess. When I was getting free tickets, the expensive parking, expensive food, horrific crowds, interminable lines, etc., were acceptable. But to pay for tickets (with $ or time), plus deal with all that, eh, avoidance works for me. I'll look at some of the smaller cons. Thanks for the offer, though.

Cheers. The smaller cons are a better bet anyway. Heck, come to DC over Easter weekend next year and I'll set you up. Working on my crew is a lark. Free ticket and all the geeking out you can stand.
