Laura, that sounds very cool! And how flattering that he was pretty much recruited.
It is! I am really proud of him. When your 22 year old son's GF's parents say he is the son they never had and what that hoped for in a son-in-law, and her boss wants to hire him, he is doing something right. Lots of things. He is quite a good guy.
Zen, I hope you have easy trip home. I'm glad the insurance company is taking good care of you.
Seriously! The last thing you need is battles and it is a relief to hear that the trip home is being as effortless as possible.
I think ltc has inherited her daddy's appetite.
Growth spurts are pretty amazing. It is stunning how much growing children can consume.
But needing my husband to get me things, to do all of the chores, to run the errands -- it's getting really old. For him too, I'm sure.
I'm sorry it is so frustrating, Dana. Remember that you would do for him if the situation were reversed. I hope this is all behind you soon. Independence is wonderful, but simply not always possible.
Ugh. Just checked to see if the wheelchair battery was delivered yet, and there was a FedEx tag on the door saying that they'd attempted delivery half an hour ago and no one was home. I've been here the whole time, and didn't hear anyone knock. I tried calling FedEx, and ended up getting connected to a line where I could hear background noise, but no one was actually on the line. So I gave up and went to the website and said for it to be delivered to a local FedEx location, and I'll pick it up there. It didn't tell me when it would be delivered there.
I'll be able to pick up the battery on Monday. Argh. I'd wanted to be able to use the chair this weekend.
If anyone needs a laugh today, go look at the picture I posted on Facebook just now. I'm sure I'll find it funny someday.
I'm pretty sure one of the nurses I saw for pre-op testing referred to giving a urine sample as "going tee-tee." However, she was also the one who drew blood, and she found a vein with almost no trouble and caused me almost no pain, so I will forgive her.
Home safe. Been up an arduous 28 hours. Sleep now. Sister very glad to see me.
Sleep soundly and may your body spend that time healing. Good to know you are home.
Happy to hear, Zen. Have a good rest.
So, kids. #1 called me at nearly 11 to say his car was dead and he was in Miami. This is his $600 wonder car he has had about a month. I tell him the battery is probably dead. Try and jump it, and if that doesn't work get himself home somehow and we'll deal with it tomorrow. He messages me about 6 AM to let me know a friend had a AAA card so he and the car are at home. At 25 he has managed something on his own! Woo! Sad thing is he really expected me to get out of bed and come rescue him. Sorry kiddo. Figure it out.
Mom wanted brownies and ice cream for mother's day dessert. Specifically brownies from the local bakery and vanilla ice cream.
I discovered that the Ingles has Greater's! Not vanilla so I didn't get it but I will be trying it soon.
