Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I have a stability ball at my desk at work. 1) It cost $25 which is wayyyyyyy cheaper than a good office chair that would be comfortable as well as commodious enough for my delicate posterior; 2) I can take breaks to do stretches for the benefit of my piriformis; 3) wiggling around on it while working seems to prevent a boatload, or should I say buttload, of stiff-and-sore-ness when I get up. I highly recommend sitting on stability balls while working.
One drawback is in humidity, it can get kind of sweaty in a way that fabric upholstery does not.
ETA Sue, Suzi, everybody in pain, I wish you ease and improvement.
I am having not-quite coping. I'm having my second period since I started taking lexapro three and a half weeks ago. I can say that it is champion of toning down the PMS rage/anxiety (not quite coping is dead brilliant comparatively) that I've had with my cycles the last year-ish. Hasn't touched the deep resentment at having another period in less than a month when I was not expecting it for a couple of months, oddly enough.
I'm at my nephew's swim meet. First one I've been to this year. I forgot to bring ear buds to listen to music. It's already too much noise.
I can't leave. Well I could but I don't think I could find parking we were late and it was already tricky.
I hope everyone's doing as well as can be this morning.
Andi, they make stability ball covers, so you don't have to stick to them: [link]
Peanut woke up at 5, and I managed to get her back down, but now I'm up. Usually that would be okay, since I work Saturday mornings, but I took this Saturday off. Ah, well. more time to screw around on the interwebs.
Happy screwing around, juliana.
It did not occur to me that I could make a cover for it. Hmmm...
askye, I wish relief and tolerance.
My current working setup is a big comfy chair with my computer on a side table and keyboard and mouse on a laptop board. I am using the ball from my stability chair loose as a footstool. It works great because of the soft bounce factor.
Soooo, I think Tom and I will run away from Columbus when we are there for a week over Xmas (12/24-31.) Since I am procrastinating, I have starting planning the trip, and I think we'll head to Cincinnati for a few days, 12/28-31.
So, Teppy, flea, Hil - where's a fun neighborhood to stay in that has cool restaurants and breweries and such?
lol, I'm far too impatient, I just booked at Six Acres B&B which looked pretty close (relatively speaking) to Northside.
Pathetic whine ahead. Yesterday I did too much so I have tried to lower my expectations for today. I just need to start reading my text book and be here for the delivery and setup of the futon.
I had asked CJ to be here between 11-6 so he would be here during the delivery but then they called and I'm scheduled between 6-8. Ugh. And CJ had plans with his gf this evening. So I asked him to help with a few household chores. He happily agreed but had done none of them. I started to clean up clutter and then he got mad cause I didn't ask for help. I did. Hours ago. And now I'm hurting again.
Kitty litter still needs to be dealt with, outside plants need to be watered, and i just don't have the umph. I'd also like to clean yup my office a bit more, though the floor is clear which is the minimum needed for today.
Kelly is picking up H from the airport after visiting her mom. She may or may not be able to be here between 6-8 let alone to help me accomplish other house stuff. I HATE needing help.

That's where we got married! It's literally 3 minutes from our house. Kristen (the proprietor) might remember us, but then, she has weddings there basically every weekend, and we got married 4 years ago (HOW HAS IT BEEN FOUR YEARS), so she may not.
Also YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! There's a really new brewery just north of Six Acres, called Brink Brewing. That neighborhood is North College Hill. And then in Northside we have Urban Artifact, and by that time, Taft Ale House might be open** (technically not Northside, but so close that it makes no difference). And beyond us, there's a crapton more. New breweries keep opening all the time. You'll need to make a spreadsheet and prioritize. But I can almost* guarantee you that Tim can chauffeur you (us) around to breweries, because he doesn't drink.
*(I say "almost" because I don't want to just commit him like that, but I'm pretty damn sure he'll do it.)
**(There's already one location open for Taft Ale House; the one near Northside will be a second location.) (If you care.) (Which you might, because you might Google.)
We have good food and fun shenanigans in Northside, but also in Clifton, which is flea's neighborhood, and in Hyde Park, which is Hil's neighborhood. Hil, will you be around then, or back in NJ with your family for the holidays/school break?
It's official; we're adopting the porch cat whose photos have been lighting up the book of face. Her name is now PHRYNE, because she will charmingly get all up in your business before you even know it. Mycroft, true to his name, is kind of a grump about it all.
