I havent watched New Who yet. Need to figure out how to catch up.
I am looking forward to Legends of tomorrow they are adding magic to the mix and it looks even more over the top.

I really quite liked The Ghost Monument. There were flaws:
- The plot was very straightforward. Pretty much no twists at all. I don't really feel it detracted from the ep, but it didn't add much either.
- Hopefully Yaz will get more to do in subsequent eps.
- Wasn't a fan of the Doctor giving up at the end when the Tardis wasn't right there.
But!
- It looked fantastic. (Filmed in South Africa, apparently.) The action set pieces held up pretty well too.
- I have to take back one of my comments from last week, when I said dialogue was not going to be a strength. It's not as funny or clever as under Moffat, but it is showing some real empathy and groundedness.
- I like what Jodie Whittaker is doing with the character. There's a bit more depth to her interactions with the others, like she's connecting with them as people rather than just characters.
- Not sure how I feel about the Stenza being made into a season-sized threat. The main thing I liked about Tim Shaw in the opener is just how rubbish he was. He's cheating at a leadership exam that asks whether a fully armed and armoured soldier can overpower a single unprotected civilian. The Daleks they are not!
- Viewing figures were strong. It pulled in a third of the UK viewing audience, and that'll presumably increase once they include everyone on delayed watch. There was a drop from the first ep (as there usually is), but not by that much. Good start.

I'm not too into the Stenza. I did like the smothery bits of mobile fabric. I read somewhere that those are called The Remnant and was racking my brain for why that's familiar - it's Skullduggery Pleasant, I think. Not that it's necessarily a reference, just a good name.

Okay, I did watch last night's Arrow, and...I just don't know. The flashforwards aren't interesting to me because William isn't interesting to me (though I like Roy).
I do enjoy seeing Vinnie Jones, though, so there's that.

Agree. I get that Chibnall is really into the "everything is NEW!" thing, but there's a reason those classic enemies keep coming back.
