"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Well, that sucks, Matt.

At least the insult didn't really feel personal, since I was mimicking another artist's style that's very different from my own (I thought it was cute, but whatever). I just wish they could figure out and communicate what they actually want, rather than "that's not it" after the fact.

Oh well, I'm getting paid regardless.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yes, I do at least remember knowing everything myself oh so long ago before I realized I knew nothing.

I'm so glad my gormless youth was over before the Internet happened.

Given the rest of it, getting yanked off the team is a bit of a relief. I don't envy my coworker who will be the next person on the hot seat.

Exactly how I feel about getting my most problematic journal taken away and given to some other poor slob. It's gone through four editors in less than seven years; at this rate they'll burn through all of us in a few years. I'm so relieved to be rid of the dang thing.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

On April 21 I tell my boss that we are going to be moving and give a (very long) notice. I am counting the motherfucking days. I am overwhelmed with work right now. I just want to stay on their good side long enough that they will agree to tell our insurance broker that I will be working remotely so we can get approved and hopefully buy a place before we move.

Art Crawl!!!

Hi peeps.

Having a down day.

Sitting in my messy and chaotic apartment but with no will to do anything. (I'm trying to talk myself into it.)

Job search is not going well.

Went to see a prospective apartment (room-mate situation). I would have to get rid of so much stuff and she seems really uncertain about the whole thing. She also has lots of stuff and has been doing the rent rooms to grad students for 2-3 years since 2001. I'm not sure she hasn't been talked into doing something different by our shared counselor.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Sorry sumi. This is where I tell you to sell everything and come live in my spare room for 2-3 years and figure stuff out in no rush.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Well ... my boss just asked me to take on the responsibility of doing expense reports for a staff person (higher than me, lower than the boss) who seemingly is incapable of doing them himself. He has a company credit card but doesn't see any need to keep receipts, so boss has to go over pages and pages of the credit card statement and work on it.

I am extremely reluctant to take this on. Not only is this someone I have had periodic run-ins with, but the other person in the department at my level is also acting as his personal assistant in a number of ways (making calls for him, checking on details, pulling information, making copies, etc.). BUT ... the job may depend on it ....

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I was in my mid-twenties when I first joined TT. I love reading OTHER PEOPLE's posts on the old threads, but every time I come across one of my own, I start hoping fervently that sci-fi predictions of a Digital Dark Age will come true.

Oh, look, it's me.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh jeez, Toddson. Hopefully you can figure out a way to wiggle out. That will bring nothing but grief.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I am the third or fourth oldest person in my lab.(The head of the lab and one senior scientist are definitely older than me, and one person working in the blood core has a granddaughter so she might be older than me) Most of the people in the lab are post-bacs, so they are in their early-to-mid 20s.

With luck my gormless youthful postings are lost to the mists of internet history.(First place I started posting was GEnie, if anyone except Theodosia remembers it)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, ugh, Toddson, that sounds like a terrible situation! I hope you can get out of that.
