I hate jobs! why do we need them so badly?
Mine sucks, but I need it to survive. It's a Very Large Corporation, TM. And they keep coming up with ridiculous NEW IDEAS with UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS!
Today my manager almost gave me a heart attack by telling me I was in serious danger due to the NEW ATTENDANCE POLICY that means having 6 unplanned absences in 1 year is a VERBAL WARNING situation and that I couldn't be sick again until October.
Luckily, the more she tried to explain it to me the more unfair she realized it was and appealed it to her manager and knocked me out of the danger zone...and no cracks about Kenny Loggins or ARCHER!
But, it's typical of this very unwieldy company that everything they do seems very poorly planned and guaranteed to fail. It's exhausting!

And the best part is every year just before the holidays, they let us know how badly things are going and how they will have to trim the budget and we get to guess who's job will disappear next! Happy Holidays!

Also I have had a fair bit of wine because of the above and I am trying to figure out what to wear to a hugo (an hugo? this is an important question for buffistae)
And it is necessary to tell the corset story now, which ... well ok dragoncon with a bff
and we go to try on corsets because I have always wanted one.
And they lace me up and I have a panic because it feels exactly like the Unpleasant Brace I wore for three years.
but bff is there and she's a superhero so I cannot let on I am having a panic. So I buy the corset and the jacket to go with and none of it I can afford, and we swan out.
And I do not wear this again until I confess all my weaknesses to a friend a year later and she figures out a way to lace it that 1. doesn't feel like Unpleasant Brace and 2. that I can take on and off myself.
