I don't remember you melting down, brenda, but I'm generally in favor of not giving a shit about work stuff whenever practical. Glad for general positive review.
I need to start my self-eval, though maybe not today as I feel like my strengths and accomplishments would end up being along the lines of "aces at spending money" and "surprisingly quick with a limerick"
I got royally screwed last year, in what should have been a freaking stellar review - worked incredibly hard, took on some toxic personalities and some major challenges to help out my boss, won a top manager award, and my team brought in 5 of the company's 10 largest wins. And I got shit. No merit increase, my standard bonus.
This year I actually come out slightly better than last, but also I didn't actually work very hard.
ETA: new role, new manager. I jumped before I was pushed. But I do need to find a better balance somehow.
Oh yeah, that was some bullshit. I know I'm not ambitious, but not working that hard and doing better financially seems like the way to go to me!
Geez, that's ridiculous Brenda. But yay for at least getting something this year.
Oh, now I remember. Yeah, that was some bullshit. I am even more on Team No Fucks to Give
My Goals for Next Year: clothing myself appropriately every day that I go to the office. Because getting dressed is hard today. Should've done laundry last night, I guess.
Nuns are hardcore.
they don't call the head nun "Mother Superior" any more
But I'm sorry, I can't allow this.
brenda, that sucks. Is it that bullshit evaluation system where everything has to fit into a bell curve, so some people have to be at or below expectations, no matter how they performed?
I did get my steroids last night. Woot. And slept for 10.5 hours, despite the massive dose of steroids I took at 8.
They arrested a man for making some of the JCC threats: [link]
He sounds like a real piece of work.
Thanks, Tom! I'll pass along the link.
The last couple of times I've asked people to do peer reviews for me, they've asked if I'm going up for promo. I don't know why there seems to be a disconnect between my stakeholders who think I could be up for promo, and my management, where I'm just trying to keep my head above water.
Hey Californians! Did you know that "if it's yellow, let it mellow" can damage your toilet? I did not.* And now I'm going to be $900 poorer. OTOH I think I will be getting a low-flow toilet.
* it's something to do with mineral buildup in the toilet that interferes with a valve at the bottom of the toilet.
