The last couple of times I've asked people to do peer reviews for me, they've asked if I'm going up for promo. I don't know why there seems to be a disconnect between my stakeholders who think I could be up for promo, and my management, where I'm just trying to keep my head above water.

Hey Californians! Did you know that "if it's yellow, let it mellow" can damage your toilet? I did not.* And now I'm going to be $900 poorer. OTOH I think I will be getting a low-flow toilet.
* it's something to do with mineral buildup in the toilet that interferes with a valve at the bottom of the toilet.

I need to mention this to Tim, who is engineer of the Let It Mellow train.
Can someone translate the cover of tomorrow's Der Spiegel for me?
I mean, »Der Doppelregent« is a pretty clever pun, but what does the tagline say?
"How much Putin is in Trump?"
Er, I'm pretty sure that's an EXTREMELY dirty innuendo, because the verb "stecken" literally means "to plug". So.
(I had to double-check the verb, because I was going on my college German. But I'm pretty sure it implies what it sounds like it implies.)
Thanks.

Huh! I was literally just thinking I could let it mellow now that I don't have a pet who likes to drink out of the toilet. (I realize I could have closed the lid all along.)
I wish we had our old toilet back. The one we have now is practically identical, but it's missing a great feature. It's low-flow, a bit taller for when we find it difficulter to get down and up from the seat. And the previous one had two flushes, one regular for um, solids, and a half-flush for liquids only.
The two-flush really seems like the best idea to me. But I am not a toiletician.
