Right. Piano. Because that's what we used to kill that big demon that one time. No, wait. That was a rocket launcher.

I got all your sleep over the last few nights, I think. And eats: today the cafeteria food was rib-eye steaks. And Its-its. Nom.

Man, this whole political thing is INSANE. I was hoping Sessions would be forced to resign but it looks like recusal is all that will happen, and since there isn't an actual investigation yet, I don't know how much difference that will make.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Good: Saw the doctor and got a steroid pack which will hopefully get rid of this migraine AND my back issue.

Bad: Prescription never made it to the pharmacy.

I called the after-hours number and the guy is supposed to be calling it in again. Let me tell you, he sounded thrilled to be talking to me.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Even though I'm not a practicing Catholic any more, I am so in love with how the nuns are subversive as all hell. I still do the layout for the newsletter for the order that runs my high school, and the front-page article is about their trip to DC for the Womens' March. There's an article inside about how they work with a local organization providing affordable housing for Hispanic immigrants. And the letter from the General Minister (they don't call the head nun "Mother Superior" any more) starts by talking about how she was walking around her neighborhood and says "In addition to the green leaves of daffodils and crocuses sprouting forth, a growing number of tri-color, tri-language signs are appearing in yards. Their message: 'No matter where you are from, we're glad you are our neighbor.' "

They're just sort of like "Fuck the patriarchy and these bullshit politics as well. Also we love Jesus."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, nuns have always been great. My mother went to a Catholic women's college in the early 60s, and she always talks about how most of the students were conservative, but the nuns were radical as hell.

Or, not hell.

Strategy? Act as a liaison? Execute on deliverables?

Act as a liaison it is! Which is true, and I can spin that.

Everyone does at least one of those in an office job, right?

I have hit submit so it's in the system. I'll proofread later.

brillig

The first half of my (and Hubby's) comic book collection has arrived, thanks to Faux Son. In total, nearly a dozen long boxes of mid-90s comics across most of the publishers that went through Hubby's comics shop. Lots of Bat Man and X-Men, Lady Death, oodles of Image and Dark Horse. There are a lot of books I want to keep, then I guess I'll drag what's left to the current incarnation of Hubby's store and see if there's any interest in the rest. Lots of damaged books to get rid of as well. I forgot I liked Spawn so much.
