A few days into the presidency, I looked up the line of succession, and thought that if there was to be any assassination attempts, they should do so before the Secretary of State was confirmed. But it is too late now :)

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
The local Democratic club is having a fundraiser at a country club. The theme is "Winning Back the Rural Vote." This seems wrong.
I cannot stop laughing. Of COURSE Cincinnati Democrats would do that.
It doesn't matter a whole lot to me at this point who is in the line of succession. The current person with the access codes is the scariest of the lot. Also, the permanent stain on his name in the history books if he is impeached will be important. I don't see any of the lot to follow being any more capable of running things and so long as they keep falling apart and not actually getting things done it will be okay. Also, complete incompetence and lack of accomplishing anything in the next couple years will help with the midterm elections.
At this point I hope he's convicted of treason and we can somehow make him face an actual firing squad.
Aww, Pix - your post on Beep Me made me tear up. I posted on Omnis' fb page but please do send him my best. I hope he has a nice long plateau and gets to enjoy many visits with friends and family.
And randomly cereal: the BIS at Westminster made me think of you and ND and your puppies. What a lovely face Rumor has - GSD heads are some of the best. .. it's their hindlegs that worry me.
Ryan had been showing a few welcome glimmers of humanity in the early days of the primaries. My hope is that if he took office, without needing to suck up to Trump and the most vehement of his supporters those might guide some policies. At the very least, after watching the administration go down in flames he'd be careful about big ethics violations and overstepping executive authority.
Hatch is an old school conservative from the Stone Age, back when they still had senses of ethics. While I disagree with a lot of statements he's made about LGBT rights, when push has come to shove he's supported civil unions and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, is a champion of children's medical care, and has perennially sponsored balanced budget amendments. He's also the person who suggested Ginsburg as a judiciary candidate to Clinton.
Pix, thanks for the update and tell Omnis we miss him already. (Jesus, we are all too young to be needing multiple memorial threads, surely?!). Movies with connections sounds awesome.
Who has two thumbs and just agreed to go to a Town Hall with Nancy Pelosi on the ACA?
So... what questions would you want to ask a member of Congress about the ACA? Asking for a friend.
The yoga studio that turned up on Yelp does actually exist, and is 4 blocks from my house! Candlelit Yin Yoga in the evening, you will be mine. On those evenings when I don't have a scheduling conflict.
I want to respect omnis's wishes and make a donation or two as he suggests, but I also would like to provide him with whatever little luxuries he wouldn't think to give himself and that might give him a little extra pleasure. I'm afraid I don't really know him well enough to guess what those might be, but if anyone has suggestions?
