If 45 and Pence both go down, that leaves us with the zombie-eyed granny starver Ryan, I believe. The man who never saw a safety net he didn't want to set on fire.I'm hoping the 45-inspired organizing will be enough to scare Congress into refusing to implement his entire agenda.
The local Democratic club is having a fundraiser at a country club. The theme is "Winning Back the Rural Vote." This seems wrong.
That seems like a very Republican approach.
In rural America, there often aren't many other venues where you could possibly hold such an event.
The theme is "Winning Back the Rural Vote."
I don't think it can be done. You can't turn the clock back, and I think that's what rural America wants. Just keep the rural population in mind when working on the future and hope they eventually come around. In terms of elections, the Dems have the numbers, they just need to get people to the polls.
There's something just wrong around Ryan. How can you both be a pious Christian and an Ayn Rand acolyte? Those seem like opposing philosophies. No wait, not seem like, are. Far as I can figure, Ayn Rand is his moral guidepost, and Jesus is his moral cover.
Given that Ryan's policies go directly against a lot of what Jesus taught in the gospels, I consider him calling himself a Christian to be a true example of what it means to take the Lord's name in vain.
Thank you for the update, Pix. May Omnis continue to have good days to enjoy the outpouring of love. Also, it is a reminder that we always need to let people know how much they are appreciated.
I wonder if this is the beginning of the T@#$% administration going down.
The upside for me is the ability to watch the news on television again. It is the whole train wreck thing. For months I had to just read news, but the open mocking of the incompetency of this administration is unlike anything I have ever seen. Mainstream media (haven't watched Fox) is just calling them out as reckless and dangerous amateurs. Umm, they didn't see this coming? Yes, I still am bitter and resentful of the normalization during the campaign.
Maybe the granny starver will go down with the Executive branch. [link]
Also, if 45 stays in long enough to implement some of his trade policies, it'll be devastating to anyone in the agricultural side of rural life. Big Ag has a multibillion dollar foreign trade surplus. Setting up tariffs and the subsequent trade war could be very hard on them. And they won't have Democrats to blame for their woes this time. Manufacturing has more people than Agriculture, though. And Manufacturing has far less to lose in a trade war. [link]
Apparently Orrin Hatch is next in line for president. And god help us, the Secretary of State after that.
Isn't Orrin Hatch like a thousand years old now?
