Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Glad things went well Susan!

We've got a busy day of music here. First is the Folklore Society's Mid-Winter Festival, then a houseparty/filksing at a friend's place. I don't know how late we'll stay at the latter. That depends on Mr. S.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I wonder if it is more practical to lay in stock of quality water filters and/or equipement to make a solar still plus chlorine bleach to kill microbes for long term use. And then have only a modicum of bottled water to get you through the period of time it takes to gather sufficient water to get your well/rainwater collection/access to streams or groundwater up and running.

Susan, I'm glad you are on the mend.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm banking on my backpacking purifiers (I have two with cleanable filters)and easy access to the water in the slough, personally.

Punishingly Intricate

Glad it went well, Susan!

Blue/purple hair intrigues me, but I'm afraid of what bleach would do to my already fragile hair. So then I thought about just coloring the bottom inch or two, so that the damage would be contained. Problem is, I don't have a stylist, and I don't know where to go to get it done right.(Probably not the Hair Cuttery) Ah, well, I probably should let it grow out a bit, since I just got it cut.

If you want to come up to Bmore we can hook you up with an awesome stylist who specializes in vibrant colors.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm banking on my backpacking purifiers (I have two with cleanable filters)

Which ones do you have?

I wonder how my parents would react if I started having stuff like this delivered to them. I've wanted to do that with windmill parts for years. My biggest prep so far was laying down a chunk of change to have all the scheduled maintenance done on my car last week. If I can figure out a place to safely store two gas cans I should have a reliable way to get from here to my parents house.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My feet are still cold after this morning's rally, so I think I'm going to go get a pedicure. Maybe without polish, because how long would I have to wait for it to sufficiently dry?

Art Crawl!!!

Yesterday I read that the Swedish Bakery (in Chicago) is going to close. It was open for nearly a century - but apparently people don't want quality baked goods?

I'm pretty sure this is where my brother got his wedding cake. And I know that quite a few of my niece's birthday cakes came from there.

So sad.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So Patton Oswalt released the cause of death for his wife. Check it out, Tep. That is not a good combo:

In a statement to The Associated Press, Oswalt revealed the details of a coroner's report received earlier today, which showed that McNamara died from an interaction between a condition that caused blockages in her arteries, and Xanax, Adderall, and the pain medication fentanyl. McNamara was 46.

Seems like Adderall and Fentanyl is a straight up speedball. Uppers and downers at the same time.
