you never realize just how much you use your abs every time you change positions until you have a bunch of little holes in them
Oh yeah. I only had 3 teeny holes, one 3" slice and a small organ removed, but moving from anything resembling prone (defined as not right angle sitting) required complicated weirdass yoga. Walking was fine, but I confess I stood a lot while awake to avoid transitions. Heal well!
Susan, I'm glad you're home and settled in for maximum Netflixing!
Calli, do you need anything home-like from the water-having side of the line? Meanwhile, I'm relieved that you found a Liefur-friendly hotel and a Pokestop. I don't even have one of those within reach.
Susan - so glad it went well and that you are home, safe and sound.
Susan, glad everything went well and you're home safe and sound!
Calli, no water bad! Glad you and Leifur found a cat-friendly hotel for the interim.
I swear, I'm starting to think of stockpiling food and water. My neighbor was talking today about turning a particular hillock into a bunker. I said, uh, who owns that hill? She said, eh, they'll never notice. You know, I appreciate her enthusiasm, and if she does build a bunker, I want a few feet of space in it, so.
Glad you're home safe, Susan!
I did some stuff around the house and got a massage today. And that's it. Now I'm watching Steven Universe.
My gyno told me pretty cheerfully that she had to wrestle so much with my cervix that she just left a bit in there. So my full hyst pretty much filetted me open. I was 3 days in hospital; I'm really glad you had the lapro.
I swear, I'm starting to think of stockpiling food and water.
Last weekend at my local Target I noticed that half of the prominent display of Superbowl soft drinks and beer was cases of bottled water. The water was outselling the 2L soft drinks.
I am planning to make some stews to freeze. I would've started last weekend if I hadn't been sick.
Great news, Susan. Glad you're on the mend.
Thanks, amych! I'm good for now. The hotel has a free breakfast and I don't have to leave until noon. I figure I'll wait until the last minute to check out, then grab fast food on the way home. I have plenty of bottled water to last until ~6, when things will probably go back to normal.
The cat's been a real trooper about dealing with a new space and all. I know, a reasonably comfortable motel room isn't an objectively terrible experience. But this is the first time in eight years he's left the apartment area. He has no idea why his world has changed or what's gonna happen next, unless he understands English way better than I thought. And he's just checking things out, chilling, eating a little food, drinking a little water. Most importantly, using the litter for it's intended purpose instead of marking the new territory. Good kitty!
Anyway, I'm thinking moving back north with him (if/when it finally happens) might not be too terrible a travel experience.
Kind of good to know that, at least -- Resilience Cat!
